Today I will tell you about a unique case of hiding the results of archaeological work carried out in New Zealand for almost 30 years.

A little background

In Zen I stumbled upon an article with photographs of a very interesting masonry, which, in theory, may refer to an ancient unknown civilization, and I had never even heard of it.

But the most surprising thing was its location.

It was discovered in New Zealand. I was pleasantly surprised by such interesting news, so I immediately started looking for all kinds of information on this place. When studying information on masonry, I was able to find a case with the concealment of the results of archaeological work.

I will show a photo of the masonry now, but I will not talk about it in this article, it deserves special attention and a separate article.

Back to our forbidden archeology and secrets

In short, in New Zealand there is a very difficult situation with history and it is now strongly tied to politics. Archeology is almost the only and reliable way to learn about history there.

However, archaeologists were divided there into 2 conditional camps, and each one is trying to prove the line that is beneficial for him.

But even in spite of this circumstance, realizing the severity of the consequences, the government decided to hide the results of excavations from the Waipua forest on Severny Island at almost any cost.

Everything happened in 1988, it was then that the government issued a special decree on classifying information about the excavations. I forgot to add that the information was hidden for 75 years from that moment.

The document was signed by all archaeologists and scientists who took an indirect or direct part in the work, as well as their leader Mike Teirol.

It contained 14 pages, including field reports from the expedition from 1979 to 1988, and other information related to the work.

The disclosure of any information is considered a betrayal of the motherland.

People then raised a big fuss and all kinds of newspapers wrote about this case, but the government did not disclose even a small part of the information. But what could they find to take such risks? Is it really connected with the history of peoples or politics?

In my opinion, their finding may concern not only the peoples of New Zealand, but also all of humanity as a whole. If you believe the rumors, then they found a megalithic city there, which may be the legacy of an ancient civilization and store a piece of their knowledge.

In this case, it makes a lot of sense to hide the find not from your citizens, but primarily from the whole world, in order to secretly study it further.

And the most interesting thing is that the rumors may turn out to be true, because their indirect confirmation is the discovered megalithic wall, about which I wrote at the very beginning of the article.

It's a shame that if someone finds more reliable information about our real ancient history, then immediately classifies it. I hope that someday we get lucky and really get out into the public domain.
