The Ustyurt Plateau is comfortably located between the Caspian and Aral Seas, which is famous not only for its extraordinary beauty, but also for its unusual structures that cannot be found from the surface of the earth.

We are already used to the fact that not all amazing archaeological and historical discoveries are carried out by ground expeditions. Sometimes, in order to make a discovery, you need to climb to the height of a bird's eye view, it is enough just to remember the amazing Nazca drawings.

The situation is exactly the same with the mysterious arrows of Ustyurt. Many ground expeditions passed through these places dozens of times and did not notice anything unusual in the location of the hills. And only in the process of aerial photography in the mid-80s of the last century, these structures were discovered.

So, the so-called "Ustyurt arrows" reach 800 - 900 meters. And if we take the guide shafts into account, then the boom length increases to 1.5 km, and the width from 0.4 to 0.6 km.

Almost all earthen arrows found are of the same size and point to the northeast. You can be convinced of this for yourself by examining the terrain using these coordinates:

Moreover, on the "points" of each of the arrows, there are rings 10 m in diameter, which, most likely, were very deep pits.

If you look at this area from above and connect your imagination, it seems that you have in front of you a plan of some kind of battle and arrows indicate the directions of movement of troops.

It is not known what height the original structures were, but at the moment only the so-called tips remain from some of them, and the height of the shafts barely exceeds 0.8 meters. Soil erosion and ruthless timing know their job well.

It is curious that the plants that grow inside these arrows are more adapted to hot climates and stand out as a green island against the background of withered grass.

For what purposes the ancient builders erected a whole chain of earth arrows from Cape Duan on the Aral Sea deep into the practically lifeless plateau remains an unsolved mystery. There are only theories. Some researchers believe that these are just reservoirs, and wells - accumulators were located on the edges of the triangles.

Others tend to see only cattle pens here, and the arrow-shaped shapes are just an accident (in my opinion, too often various inconvenient facts and artifacts are attributed to a game of chance).

The age of these buildings was determined by only one arrowhead, which dates back to the 15-14th century BC.

Unfortunately, practically nothing else is known about who and why built these truly unique structures. I liked the article, then with you thumbs up and thank you for your attention!
