Have you ever heard of Baigun pipes? Found these ancient artifacts in the area of the mountain of the same name in China. Indeed, these things are very similar to modern metal works, which contain both iron oxide and calcium and silicon.

If these are really pipes, what civilization could have created them in those ancient times? Researchers still have no answer to this question. However, official science fundamentally disagrees with the fact that these pipes are an artificial formation.

Its representatives insist that the pipes arose exclusively naturally and represent … a petrified forest. As evidence, she cites the fact that when cutting one of the Baygun pipes, annual rings were found, which can be found near trees.

But is the forest really capable of turning to stone? Yes, such a process is really possible and such objects are called pseudomorphoses. The essence of this process is that one material replaces another.

For example, minerals can replace shells or animal bones. And in the case of these "trees", the roots and trunks were replaced, in the place of which there was iron and calcium. Moreover, this process is very slow - it takes several million years to complete.

And nobody knows the age of these pipes - there are only many versions and hypotheses. Researchers believe that the very first vegetation could have appeared in this area about 2.5-66 million years ago.

It should be noted that the process of fossilization, according to representatives of official science, took place underground, because this is how the trees were left without oxygen and simply did not have time to rot, which is why they were so well preserved.

Gradually, everything came to the fact that metal and calcium were in place of wood, but at the same time the cellular structure of tissues was preserved. This substitution phenomenon is far from unique. It is found in those places where a powerful volcanic eruption occurs, because it is with volcanic activity that the increased mineralization of waters is associated.

Similar fossilized trees have been found earlier - in Siberia, Kamchatka, and even in Georgia. Moreover, both coniferous trees (such as spruce and pine) and many deciduous trees - alder, birch, oak, etc. are subject to a similar process.

If a tree accidentally gets into volcanic rock, then silicon will replace its wood. If it turns out to be in sedimentary rock, then gypsum, iron, pyrite or calcium will replace the tree.

In total, the researchers counted six dozen minerals that can replace wood tissue.

Nowadays, such trees are of great value and are in great demand among collectors, and are also used by craftsmen to make jewelry.
