A. A. Klyosov, in his article on the DNA of the Aryans, writes:

The very moment when the DNA genealogy made me feel good, because quite recently I wrote an article about Gamayun, where I drew attention to the German-Balkan lands, as a concentration of heraldic Eagles, meaning a direct transmission of the paternal tradition. So Klyosov turned out that this is the cradle of the "Aryans". Anatoly Alekseevich, of course, attaches too much importance to the term "Aryan", as if it were some kind of ethnonym, but nothing can be done about it, the translators of the Vedas have done their job, and now everyone wants to be involved in the sacred word "arya". Somehow I will sort out this word in more detail, it's just not the time yet, the turn has not come …

But how, then, should we call this one nation? There is one candidate, and, as I didn’t twist him, not wanting to agree, nevertheless AT THIS STAGE of my perversions of research I must admit that this name perfectly characterizes a single people who scattered their genes and culture all over the planet. This name is Venedy.

Promotional video:

Probably not surprised, because we have known since the 19th century that this is what the Slavs were called in Europe. But it's not the statement that the Slavs are the Wends that matter to me, because it means nothing. It is always more important for me to understand what was meant when a word was said. The word as a symbol, as an image. What is embedded in it, what philosophy does it carry in itself, how the meaning is attached to the sign (semantics). After all, we live in a world with billions of words and all of them are somehow devalued, without an idea inside, no different from a binary code - a purely information transfer tool. But before there were hundreds of times fewer words, and the more valuable they were, because a word is more than just connected sounds.

And if the people have a name, and it claims to be the ancient, primordial, then you have to look deeper. And just at the "Veneds", unlike many other names, everything is very deep … As they say, "instead of a thousand words." And, unfortunately, in order to convey this meaning, I will have to use these "thousand words". But even this is not enough, because, in fact, all my articles are devoted to attempts to understand and explain the ancient worldview, expressed and preserved in symbols and words. And here the simple “a = 1; b = 2; a + b = 1 + 2 = 3 ". It doesn't work that way. Here you need to be able to see beyond what is written and to continue the thought yourself, to understand which oceans lie behind "1", "2" and the resulting "3"; for no matter how many "multi-letters" I use, this will always be insufficient.

The information that the Wends are Slavs means nothing to me, since my judgments do not have a stupid nationalist orientation, and I frankly don’t care if the Wends are suddenly not Slavs. But the fact that the symbolism and ritualism I am analyzing is reflected in the name of the Wends is already a very important indicator. Since if pieces of a single culture scattered around the world suddenly find their expression in some ethnonym, then this is already a great treasure.

But before I begin to analyze the semantics of the Wends, I would like to draw your attention to this …

Hyperborea

In one of his articles, Klyosov smashes the term "Hyperborea" to smithereens. Quotes:

first:

I dare not criticize scientists, since I myself have never been a scientist and I don’t know much. But I really do not like it when someone undertakes to talk about what they do not know. It is possible to take an interest or timidly assume, but nothing more.

The fact is that I simultaneously agree with Klyosov and disagree. I agree that alternative figures and famous TV companies did everything to kill Hyperborea. From a simple geographic term, it was blown up to some kind of analogue of Wakanda from Marvel, where everyone flies on "Vimans", uses high technologies, while remaining entirely highly spiritual and "pure as children" (yeah, these are people … who are the most dangerous and insidious predators by nature). They discredit themselves, and then they still take offense at scientists for making fun of them. Serve it right!

Therefore, yes, when it comes to Hyperborea, my face, like any person with a more or less serious approach to business, looks something like this:

But on the other hand, there is one big mistake in judgment … well, let's say EVERYONE: from Klyosov to Zharnikova, who was an excellent researcher. The mistake lies in the fact that they want to place Hellenic Hyperborea almost at the North Pole. Although this is not the case. And to understand this, one does not need to possess secret knowledge, it is enough just to be able to read words and know "fairy tales."

"Ὑπερβορεία" is "beyond Boreas," right? Boreas is the personification of the north wind, and the Greeks called Boreas a Thracian (Θρηίκιος Βορέης in the "Argonautics" of Apollonius of Rhodes, 1: 214). Thrace is the semi-wild north of the Hellenic world. On the modern map, Thrace is almost Bulgaria:

Thrace is highlighted in yellow
Thrace is highlighted in yellow

Thrace is highlighted in yellow.

What do we have there beyond Thrace (counting from Greece)? Just Klyosovsky Serbia, Bosnia, Croatia, Macedonia! So, in principle, no one is really lying, if you follow the myth. And yet, yes, it turns out that the notorious "Hyperborea" is indeed the homeland of the "Aryans", only it was not located on the Kola Peninsula (and others like that), alas … Well, then the Riphean Mountains, which is already "oil oil", since the "Ripea" - in Russian “ridge” is, most likely, the Carpathians, but I don’t say.

By the way, the god Boreas is, if you take it seriously, just an excellent, such an entire Slavic image, which remarkably characterizes the ceremonial part of the conventionally "Wends". And again, the Greeks do not have the keys to revealing his image. They have it just north wind. But in Slavic folklore you will find everything about Borea, since this is the central character of our fairy tales.

Well, now you can proceed to the Veneds themselves.

"Vanitas" by A. Hilferding

I do not know who was the first to talk about the fact that the Wends are Slavs, but personally I first met a full text on this topic in Alexander Hilferding's article "History of the Slavs: The Ancient Period of the History of the Slavs", which he published in 1868 in the journal "Vestnik Europe”(No. 9, September).

There he talks about the geography of the Wends settlement (they only came from the Iranian lands, which Klyosov opposes now), and the meaning of their name (which I will oppose). But despite the dissimilarity of our opinions, the data from Hilferding are well compiled and very useful, so I will cite them here so as not to retell on my own behalf, well, and for general development. I will shorten:

In addition, Hilferding recalls the Italian Venets in Venice (and assigns half of the article to them), the Enets on the Bartan River (flows into the Black Sea from the side of Asia Minor), the Genets in Cappadocia, the Bulgar Vend in the Ararat region. He says about them like this:

But if you dig into geography, then place names similar to “Veneds” can be found in Scandinavia, and who knows, maybe “Finns” are also a derivative of them? After all, the Finns never called themselves "Finns".

Reading the analysis of the name “Veneda” by Hilferding, you pay attention to the following: somehow in our society, especially the “historically alternative”, the idea of exclusivity is still alive. She works only at the expense of the main of the seven sins - Her Majesty Pride. We really want to be special, the smartest, the coolest, the most powerful. The politicians from the tolerant blue screens broadcast that all peoples are equal, they scold others for their excessively exaggerated PSI, but at the same time indulge in every possible way the idea of "Russia is the best", no matter what. All of us are setting records and supposedly surprise the whole world … well, that's what the media tell us, very politically “active” citizens.

And those who are against the official version and politics still continue to indulge this conceit. Only with them we are not the strongest and wisest, but our ancestors. Arias, Hyperboreans, Tartars, etc. In any case, we are a supernation, and all the rest are "sucks". This is the only reason why Hilferding so relishes the version that the "Vanitases" are "glorious, amiable" … true Aryans.

The author simply did not need to dig a centimeter deep to discover what I already described in the article about the Aryans, namely, that they were not “noble” because they were loved, and they really recognized between themselves and all the oppressed as “the most amiable “, But simply because they themselves did not recognize the existence of culture outside their community, among the“savages”. This is only a consequence of their own foundations, and not the meaning of the word "Arya". But for a noble imperial society, reading such articles, it would be more pleasant to realize that they, the mighty of this world, descend from no less noble ancestors.

The Indian word for "honor, honor, praise" that Hilferding speaks of is "wanda" - वन्द - "to exalt, praise", and, accordingly, "vandana" - वन्दना is "reverence, praise, adoration", "Vandaru" - वन्दारु - "praise, celebration, respect, reverence", "vandat" - "worship, praise".

In Latin, there is a similar word - "veneror" - "to worship, honor, respect"

Speaking in Russian, it is GLORY. Aha, the analogy with the Slavs is immediately visible, and in this vein, indeed, the Veneds are the Slavs. But I wouldn't even start writing this article if it was that simple. The picture is much more interesting than the simple "Veneds - Glorified", and to clarify it, we need to recall my previous articles:

  • Princes and Gamayun. Part 1 and Part 2
  • Princes and Centaurs
  • Ivan. Kupala etymology
  • Heroes as part of the Veles tradition
  • Warlocks and Wizards

Somewhere at the intersection of these topics lies the answer about the Veneds. Whoever reads, he will understand everything, and who is lazy - go to the SECOND PART
