Light forest, or light pillars, is a type of halo, a visual atmospheric phenomenon. In ancient times, by the way, they were mistaken for mystical appearances of divine light or fiery swords with which the gods decided to punish the rebellious earthlings. In fact, everything is explained much more simply - in the frosty air, a huge number of ice crystals form, reflecting the rays of the setting sun, street lamps or car headlights.
