The ruler of the world, Leonardo da Vinci of our time, the scientific pioneer of the 20th century and even the living embodiment of the highest mind on Earth. All this was said, and sometimes even today, about one person whose name, shrouded in a mysterious halo, is associated with dozens of the most incredible rumors and legends, one sinister to the other. It is no coincidence that his prototype is quite often used in the creation of cinematic lone scientists working in secret laboratories on a monstrous weapon capable of destroying the whole world.
Forces of darkness versus forces of light
Nikola Tesla was born during a terrible night thunderstorm on July 10, 1856 in the Croatian mountain village of Smilyan. According to the family legend, the midwife who took the birth considered the continuous flashes of lightning to be a bad sign and predicted that the forces of darkness would favor the newborn.
At the age of seven, in front of Nikola's eyes, his older brother died. The tragedy had a profound effect on the child's psyche, and since then he has come to believe in mystical phenomena and, in particular, in the fact that pigeons have a direct connection with the other world. By the way, it was they who accurately predicted the day of Tesla's death.
At seventeen, Nicola contracted cholera. The attending physician just threw up his hands and complained that the young man had only a week to live.
However, the guy overcame a fatal illness, however, after that he had another quirk.
He washed his hands a hundred times a day, and when he sat down at the dining table, the service staff clutched at their heads in horror, because Tesla could arrange a uniform blast for the smallest speck on the plate.

After moving to the USA, the inventor collaborated for some time with the developer of the first light bulb and phonograph, Thomas Edison, who, after completing another project, “threw” it for a fabulous sum, after which Nikola Tesla set off on a “free float”.
At the same time, possessing a brilliant mind, he believed in the honesty of people until the last day of his life, and therefore time after time he was deceived, deprived of his inventions, patents, money and other things.
Take, for example, its role in the creation of radio communications. When, after another "joint" work, he was again cheated, he sued Guglielmo Marconi, claiming that when he invented the radio, he used almost two dozen of his patents.
The hearings in this case lasted quite a long time, since none of the judges understood the radio waves. Perhaps this is why the verdict was expected - whoever was the first to apply for an invention became the creator of modern radio.
Tesla was literally obsessed with putting thousands of his ideas into practice, he had practically no time for everything else. He slept no more than two or three hours, and sometimes spent in his laboratory without sleep for three or four days in a row.
Possessing a phenomenal memory, when working on the next project, he was rarely distracted to check this or that information. His brain was like a huge library containing thousands of books he had read before.
Moreover, Tesla performed drawing work only at the final stage, when the invention had to be handed over to the customer. Before that, he simply designed all his inventions in his head.
The mystery of the Tunguska incident
In the spring of 1908, the inventor made a sensational statement in which he announced that a wireless power plant he had created could turn a fairly large region anywhere on Earth into a scorched desert.
Whether Tesla embellished his new invention or not, remained a mystery, the veil over which can only help to open the events that occurred a few months later.
On June 30, a cosmic body allegedly fell in the distant Siberian taiga, which was later named the Tunguska meteorite. To this day, the fragments from him have not been found, at the same time, one of the explanations for what happened is associated with the tests of Tesla's deadly apparatus.
At the beginning of 1931, the brilliant scientist, already in the presence of numerous eyewitnesses, publicly demonstrated his other invention. Having connected a small device to the engine of his car, he accelerated it to a speed of 150 km / h, and then drove at least 500 km within a week, without using up a liter of gasoline.
Until now, nothing is known for certain about this "source of eternal energy", because, as Tesla himself claimed, he destroyed his most significant inventions, fearing that humanity, having misused them, would destroy itself.
In those same years, Nikola Tesla worked hard to create the so-called death rays, which could be used as a silent weapon of increased range. This project, of course, like many others, was intensely interested in the US military department, which subsequently spent tens of millions of dollars to translate the inventor's idea into reality. However, the results of this development are still classified.
Two hundred percent
Another secret behind seven seals, closely related to Tesla's name, is the project under the well-known name "The Philadelphia Experiment".
For the US Navy, the inventor was working on technology that would allow ships to be completely invisible to Nazi radars. This project finally crippled his health, and he died of heart failure in January 1943.
But Tesla would not have been Tesla if he had not used his talent in the latest invention, not one hundred percent, but two hundred percent!
A few months after his death, the Americans tried to put the technology created by Tesla into practice. The result is known: the destroyer Eldridge disappeared not only from the radar, but also disappeared altogether! They found him two hundred kilometers from the parking lot. At the same time, part of the crew disappeared without a trace, and some went crazy.
The scale of the projects that Nikola Tesla worked on boggled the imagination of not only his contemporaries, but also their descendants. The genius himself has said more than once: "The technologies I work on are not for the present, but for the future."
Meanwhile, in the USA, in one of the abandoned archives, a patent for the invention of drones by Nikola Tesla was recently discovered! The accompanying note says that the devices controlled by waves and impulses can be used to transfer goods to hard-to-reach areas. The recovered document is dated November 1898.
