At the age of two years and 11 months, the girl read her first book

American Delisle Marie Arani is only four years old, and she has already read a thousand books. It turns out that her love of books began when she was a baby and listened to her older brothers and sisters read aloud.

Later, she wanted not only to listen, but also to read on her own. At the age of 2 years and 11 months, the girl read her first book, vsiknygy.net.ua reports.

Seeing the girl’s desire to read, DeLisle’s parents and a preschool worker decided to try the 1000 Books for Kindergarten program to keep track of how much Delisle was reading.

As a result, it turned out that in just a year she reached the mark of 1,000 books, and since the girl is due to go to kindergarten next fall, she plans to read 500 more.

As it turned out, that's not all. The little American reads what her 10-year-old and 12-year-old brothers and sisters bring, and has mastered several texts at the college level.

This story did not go unnoticed by Carla Hayden, head of the Library of Congress. To celebrate DeLisle's accomplishments, Hayden invited the girl to one of the largest libraries in the world and allowed her to sit in leadership meetings.
