In all centuries, people with inexplicable and sometimes incredible abilities aroused special interest of society. Moreover, it is not yet possible to predict or design the birth of a child with a special gift. Unique people can be born anywhere and at any time, and until now scientists cannot comprehend the nature of the extraordinary capabilities of such people.

Often, unique people have some kind of physical disabilities, which are compensated for in a very unusual way. And in the history of mankind, a lot of information has accumulated about people endowed with the rarest properties. If we turn to the chronicle of the last century, we can find several rather bright personalities who could work real miracles. One of these people can safely be attributed to Rosa Kuleshova, who has the ability to read with her hands.

This unusual woman was born in 1940 in one of the villages near Nizhny Tagil. As a child, the girl was no different from her ordinary peers, but her health was not all right - at the age of eleven, Rosa began to have epileptic seizures. At the end of seven classes, the girl got a job as a nurse in a hospital, and along the way she went to amateur classes at a school for visually impaired people. Having become interested in reading in Braille (with the help of hands), the girl decided to experiment on a regular book and realized that she felt the difference between black and white.

After a year and a half, Rosa was quite free to “read” with her hands. Later, scientists will explain this ability of Rosa by the term "skin-optical sensitivity". Gradually developing her gift, the girl was able not only to read ordinary books with her fingers, but to recognize the colors and content of drawings on paper. Throughout her life, Rosa Kuleshova's health was rather weak, but, nevertheless, the woman went on tour in the summer season, on which, with an opaque blindfold over her eyes, she read newspapers with her fingers and determined the colors of objects even through a rather dense partition. Public opinion regarding the gift of a woman was not the same: someone sincerely admired her capabilities, and someone called Rosa a swindler.

The woman took criticism hard, and her special gift did not bring her much happiness both in her family and in her personal life. A unique woman died in 1978, and the cause of death was a brain tumor, which may have affected certain brain structures, giving the woman the ability to "see" with her hands. Another mystery is the glow of the human body, which is described not only in ancient religious treatises, but also in scientific works. And if the glowing wounds (by the way, mentioned in many textbooks on toxicology) are explained by scientists by the reproduction of luminescent microorganisms and their metabolic products in damaged tissues, the phenomenon of glowing people has not yet been solved.

For example, a similar phenomenon is described by Gould and Pyle in their book Anomalies and Curiosities in Medicine, which describes a case where a strong glow emanated from a woman's breast cancer, and its light was so strong that at a distance of several feet you could see the numbers on the clock … And an author named Hareward Carrington, in his work on the causes of death, describes an unusual case of the glow of the body of a child who died from indigestion. Moreover, the boy's body emitted not only light, but also heat, and even the sheet under the child was burned.

In 1934, the Times published an article about the "glowing woman," Anna Morano. This lady was sick with asthma, and when she slept, flashes of blue emanated from her chest. This phenomenon continued for several weeks. Many doctors have witnessed such a miracle, and a wide variety of assumptions have been expressed, including electromagnetic radiation. However, none of these interpretations provided a reasonable explanation for this process. As for the church, the glow of the human body was often recognized as a sign of holiness. Saints Catherine da Ritchie, Philip Neri, Francis of Assisi and many other righteous people could radiate radiance. Even Moses, when he came down from Mount Sinai, for several days covered his face from people, which shone with a bright light. As for official science, then she categorically rejects the existence of "firefly people."

The maximum that scientists agree on is to recognize the presence in some cases in the human body of special bacteria that can emit light. If we talk about unique people, then one cannot fail to mention mediums, and one of the most outstanding people in this area was Helen Duncan, who had the ability to form phantoms from ectoplasm, which was produced by her own body. The girl's ability to communicate with the world of spirits and clairvoyance manifested itself already at the age of seven, and later it was for this gift in the enlightened twentieth century that a woman was imprisoned on charges of … witchcraft. The authorities referred to the 1735 law (which was then still in effect in the UK), and condemned Helen as a witch.

However, the reason was completely different - the Second World War was going on, and then suddenly this strange woman publicly announced the death of the cruiser HMS Barham, which was deliberately not disclosed. Fearing that Duncan might spill out about yet another undercover operation, the intelligence officers took the medium into custody as a witch and a spy. Churchill himself defended Helen, advocating the abolition of medieval prejudices, but this did not help, and the woman spent several months in prison.

Helen really had amazing abilities - she could create very real phantoms, barely distinguishable from living people. During the next arrest of the medium, the police mistook the spirits she summoned for living people, and even tried to handcuff them! Helen Duncan died at the age of 59 from a serious illness. People endowed with extraordinary physical strength can also be classified as unique. Nature generously endowed Timofey Bakulin with this gift - a real Russian hero. Timofey was born in a village in the district of the city of Ostrogozhsk. Up to ten years old, the boy was a completely ordinary child, and then he began to grow sharply. At the same time, his extraordinary physical strength began to manifest, and already in the 20s of the last century, Timofey began to earn money on tour.

It was then that he became known as Timofey Silinsky, and for his travels a special chaise had to be made, since, due to the huge height and heavy weight, ordinary carts could not withstand the strong man. The hero's height was 2m45cm with a weight of 190 kg. Timosha's leg size was also not small - 54. During the performances, the athlete fought with bears, lifted weights, and pound stones were broken on his chest.

Timofey Silinsky died in 1937 from an infectious disease. The body of the "statesman" was never given to the family for burial, but was dissected. For a long time, his skeleton was an exhibit in the clinical infectious diseases hospital in Moscow, at the moment its location is unknown.
