The T'Spookhuys restaurant is located in the town of Turnhout and it is not for nothing that it is called the "horror restaurant" or the "home of a thousand ghosts."
Every detail of the interior and overall furnishings has been carefully thought out. Almost all design elements are unique, made to order by skilled craftsmen. As a result, its owners Karl Hendrix and Bjorn Leis received a real devilish masterpiece.
The restaurant was opened on October 1, 1997. The fog swirling on the floor, terribly creaking doors, moving pictures and other special effects caused wild delight among those who wanted to “dine in hell”.
The special recipe and original dishes did not go unnoticed by lovers of unusual places. For example, for dessert you might have been offered a mud pie garnished with spicy worms. The plate was a human skull. Skeletal paraphernalia was one of the T'Spookhuys specialties.

The attendants wore the clothes of vampires and devil followers. The behavior of the waiters also went beyond the bounds of everyday life: vampires were characterized by classic old speech and aristocratic manners, and devil worshipers, on the contrary, were characterized by playful insolence and black humor.
At the beginning of 2003, when the inferno institution became very popular, the first rumors appeared about the ritual rituals of Satanists in the secret room of the building. There was even a story about a missing person who was last seen entering a devilish restaurant.
After another 4 years, the atmosphere of this place began to negatively affect people and the flow of customers decreased. From the employees of the institution, one could hear a rumor about ghosts living here, who moved objects or simply frightened the staff.
By 2008, a series of rumors about sectarian owners, disappearances of people and real human turtles finally destroyed the restaurant's reputation and it was hastily abandoned. Even the furnishings remained intact.
Later it was visited by experts in paranormal phenomena, who did not record any presence of otherworldly forces, but for some reason the locals prefer to bypass this place …
