Fogs have always fascinated and attracted people. There is something beautiful in the mists, but at the same time eerie, from which goosebumps run down the back.
Many of us who have accidentally fallen into fog (especially in unfamiliar terrain) have this irrational feeling that there is something evil and unidentified inside the fog. Many ominous legends have been written about the fogs and even more tales are told.
Even the most common mists can be intimidating, let alone a mysterious pink mist that engulfs living flesh and leaves behind nothing but gnawed bones. And this is not just a single bike, but a whole series of stories from Florida, the first of which appeared in 1955.
It all took place in a wooded area near the Tomoka River, west of the city of Daytona. Beginning in 1955, fishermen and hunters in the area began to report sightings of an unusual deep pink fog. This fog went very low to the ground and formed as if out of nowhere. It also seemed to people that it moved by itself, regardless of the direction of the wind.
After stories of seeing the pink fog, ominous stories emerged that in the places he walked, only bare bones remained of the corpses of animals. And as if even from one living person who fell into this fog, only a skeleton remained. Moreover, all the bones were not red from traces of blood, but completely white, as if the fog had devoured even the smallest particles of flesh.
Then there were stories of living animals that also fell into the fog and turned only into a bunch of white bones.
This pink cloud of fog has been observed since 1955 for over a decade. His victims were credited with the disappearance of a dozen people in the area, from whom only naked skeletons were later found.
It was said that sometimes the fog leaves the carcasses of animals not completely "gnawed", but in the form of pieces of flesh, which seemed to be half-digested in someone's stomach. Sometimes they found carcasses that lay in a melted pool of flesh and fat, as if they had been in some kind of acid.

It was said that the pink mist can capture both birds and insects and even trees, peeling off their bark and leaving bare trunks. On one occasion, the fog completely ripped off a layer of grass, leaving behind a strip of black, bare earth.
The flow of reports of pink haze was interrupted in 1965-1966. More about new cases of the appearance of this strange phenomenon were not reported, but like mushrooms after the rain, hypotheses multiplied about what it could be.
One of the most curious hypotheses connects the pink fog with the legend of the local Indians about a certain Tomka, who was cursed for stealing a golden cup, from which he later drank water in the sacred spring of youth without permission.
For these crimes, Tomki was hunted down and killed, taking the cup from him, but Tomka's spirit, having become immortal after drinking water, somehow merged with the fog and prowled the earth for a long time in search of his cup and avenging all living things that came his way.
Another theory is that all those killed in the fog actually died from swamp gases, and their bones were gnawed by local predators.
There is another unusual phenomenon in the same area that may be associated with this pink fog. For decades near the Tomoka River, people have observed strange lights hanging in the air. These lights seem to be able to pursue lonely travelers and cars, but they quickly disappear without harming anyone.
