The Temple of Satan Church has announced that starting from the new school year it will operate in the country's primary schools, where it will offer its students its new after-school group, the After School Satan Club, according to an official press release posted on the organization's website …

While the presence of religious organizations in public schools will undoubtedly be shocking to some, biblical activists - most notably the Child Evangelism Fellowship (CET), with the help of lawyers from the Liberty Council - have firmly established the legitimate rights of religious organizations to operate clubs in public educational institutions. said in the published release.

In their appeal, the Satanists refer to the ruling of the United States Supreme Court, which states that "a public school that allows secular groups to use its premises has no right to discriminate against religious groups."

And now that Christian groups have established Good News Bible Clubs in schools across the country, Temple of Satan is offering its own club that will focus on "critical thinking, fun and free thinking."

“The Satanic Temple sent letters to schools across the country explaining that this school year we are proposing to open our clubs in schools, and in the first weeks of the school term, children will ask their parents to sign a permit to visit the club.

All the schools to which we sent letters are located near the local branches of The Satanic Temple, and in each of these schools a Good News club has already opened or is about to open,”said Lucien Greaves, a representative of the Temple of Satan.

“We are confident that school administrators are well aware that they have no right to deny us the use of premises and other activities permitted by other school clubs, such as distributing brochures and school-wide announcements.

We would like to especially thank the Liberty Council for opening the doors of the schools for the Satan After School Club through their fight for religious freedom."

Speaking about the mission of the After School Satan Clubs, Greaves explained:

“It is important for the children to be able to understand that the Bible materials that are reaching our schools today represent just one religious worldview out of many.

While the Good News Clubs focus on indoctrination, instilling in children the fear of Hell and the wrath of God, the Satan After School Club will focus on free thinking and rationalism, on a scientific worldview. We prefer to teach children to admire the wonders of nature around them, and not to be afraid of the eternal horrors of the afterlife."

Currently, members of the Satanic organization have equipped classrooms in elementary schools in Atlanta, Los Angeles, Pensacola, Portland, Salt Lake City, Seattle, Springfield, Tucson, and Washington DC.
