A resident of the English town of Grimsby in Lincolnshire claims that he was lucky enough to photograph a phantom that appeared in the window of an abandoned medieval church. This photograph was taken by Ted Johnson on September 25th. According to the man, he has not the slightest doubt that the photograph below shows a native of the afterlife.
We are talking about the stone Church of the Apostle Peter, located in the village of Holton-le-Clay in the vicinity of Grimsby. Johnson, being an avid amateur photographer, took his camera early in the morning and went here to capture the ancient architecture. When the Englishman returned home and transferred the images to a computer, one of the images revealed an anomaly - a ghostly human face peeping out of a dark window.
Ted says: “When I took this picture, there was no one nearby, including in the church itself. I remember that very well, because I looked inside myself. I am not one of those people who is fond of paranormal phenomena, but I do not classify myself as hopeless skeptics. It was dark in the church, but I didn't feel any gloomy atmosphere. Even in the nearby cemetery, I felt very calm and comfortable. I took about forty pictures, then took a walk in the fresh air and returned home. In the evening, I found this face in one photo. My wife also thinks it's a ghost. She just believes in such devilry and is even afraid of it. She says that at the sight of this image, goosebumps ran down her spine.
The legend of the ghost of the church
It is noteworthy that a curious legend is associated with the Church of the Apostle Peter in Holton-le-Clay. According to her, at the end of the seventeenth century, when this religious building flourished and had many parishioners, an old beggar appeared in the village and begged for alms near the church. The parishioners tried to avoid him, as the elderly man had a very unattractive appearance and was dressed in disgusting rags.
Soon a brutally murdered young woman was found in the village. The villagers believed that this was the work of a beggar, and hanged the stranger. And a week later, there was a completely new murder, and then the real criminal responsible for both deaths was caught - a local drunkard. He, of course, was also executed. However, the church soon fell into disrepair, and it was rumored that the ghost of an old man who was wrongly accused of murder and then hanged, who now settled in the temple, was to blame.
