As reported by the editorial staff of the journal Cell Reports, a group of Australian specialists managed to develop and test a unique medical product that acts on the body in exactly the same way as physical activity. And soon, in order to burn excess fat, you will need to go not to the gym, but to a doctor who will be able to help you lose a couple of kilograms without grueling exercise and surgery.
Professor Sean McGee and his colleagues are responsible for developing the miracle tool. The creators claim that the drug has the same effect on the body as physical activity. Namely: it breaks down the HDAC protein complex and promotes the launch of the MEF2 protein. It is these structures that are responsible for the processes of fat burning and muscle building.
It is worth saying that the influence of these regulatory structures on metabolic processes was proved by scientists back in 2009, but only now they managed to create a drug with a similar effect. The medicine increases the metabolism of cells and makes them burn fat stores.
In the course of laboratory tests on mice, the researchers managed to achieve a persistent increase in the concentration of the MEF2 protein, as a result of which in the body of the rodents there was an increase in protein energy consumption and more intense fat oxidation. In addition, significant changes also took place in the cellular structures - the number of mitochondria increased. Exactly the same processes occur in the body during physical exertion.
Now there are similar drugs on the market, for example, HDAC protein inhibitors, but their effect is much worse than the resulting drug. And the existing medicines work "at full strength" only in combination with physical exercises.
Australian researchers are already planning the next round of human trials in 2017, so don't be in a rush to renew your fitness membership.
