Participants of the Irkutsk branch of the research association "Kosmopoisk" (group "Stilet") conducted a study and night watch in the Khuzhir Museum of Local Lore on Olkhon Island. Reports of anomalous events in the museum building have been received repeatedly.

Basically, they were associated with the things of the shaman Odegon, who lived about a century ago, which now belong to the museum exposition. Also, local shamans associate the appearance of paranormal activity with a yurt serving as one of the exhibits.

The director of the museum, Kapitolina Nikolaevna, told the group's experts about a number of anomalous episodes that are in one way or another connected with the Revyakin Museum, and above all with the stand of the sacred objects of the shaman Odegon. One of the shamans, having examined these things, told the museum staff the alleged story of Odegon's death. According to him, she was killed by the gaze of the "black shaman", who dealt her a kind of "energy blow".

After her death, her body was burned, but the bracelets and rings belonging to the shaman woman, as well as the harness of her horse, were preserved. Museum staff say that another mysterious event happened with the well-known Baikal shaman Valentin Khavdaev, who visited the museum to consecrate the exposition.

When he put his hand on the glass of the showcase, the things laid out on the showcase in the form of a ring began to move spontaneously, and eventually stopped in a mess. A neighbor's boy was also a witness of these movements. The shaman explained that things should not be touched, showing respect for the will of the shaman Odegon.

Kapitolina Litvinova also told about another remarkable case. A shaman from Irkutsk went to the Shamanka rock, taking with him an arrowhead that belonged to Odegon to, as he put it, "try to summon her spirit." The day before, he conducted a purification ceremony in the museum, which was also attended by employees. However, the shaman did not allow him to go to the rock with him, saying that the presence of strangers could end in an accident both for them and for the shaman himself.

When the shaman went to the rock, the weather deteriorated sharply, a downpour began, accompanied by a thunderstorm, despite the fact that the first half of the day was sunny. Two of the employees who attended the cleansing ritual experienced inexplicable fear in the evening. Kapitolina Litvinova said that her dog at night looked extremely frightened and did not leave the owner.

Another museum employee at about the same time suddenly woke up and found herself falling out of bed. Another participant in the ceremony also unexpectedly woke up, but did not feel fear. A woman who lived next to the museum said that she saw a "transparent woman in white" sitting on the porch of the museum, who then headed towards the Shamanka rock. This witness suffers from a mental illness, however, according to the director of the museum, this does not make her words less reliable: she could hardly have come up with such a description on her own …

The next day, the shaman said that the ritual of invoking the spirit of Odegon was crowned with success. Odegon said that she was unhappy with the fact that she was separated from the horse (indeed, the harness of the horse that belonged to her was in another window, and not next to her own things). She also demanded to sacrifice a ram, but they did not do this, replacing the bloody sacrifice with an offering of milk.

It is worth noting that the "transparent woman" was also seen by local schoolgirls when they returned late after a disco. They approached the museum building and almost immediately noticed a woman sitting on the stairs. Initially, they had no idea that it might be a ghost. But when the woman got up and walked into the museum through the wall, the schoolgirls fled in fright.

Another episode is associated with a representative of Orthodoxy. Once Father Oleg and his mother Larisa came to the museum from Irkutsk. They stayed in a large house with friends. When visiting the museum, the priest looked at various cult objects related to shamanism and Buddhism, took them in his hands and baptized them at the same time. That same night, the unknown "barabashka" did not let them sleep. As soon as the priest and his wife started to fall asleep, someone started knocking on the door.

It was not possible to find anyone, the knocking continued all night. A similar reaction to the sign of the cross manifested itself another time, when Kapitalina Nikolaevna herself crossed the locks on the doors to protect the museum from thieves. That night, she was on duty at the museum and had an eerie dream of pale women in white robes flying around the museum. Another time, already in reality, Kapitalina Nikolaevna in the area of the stand with a yurt saw an unknown image, similar to a man from the water.

Also, the director of the museum remembered another strange incident that had already happened at her house, but was associated with the exhibits of the museum. In one of the winter periods, Kapitalina Nikolaevna took home especially valuable cult items related to shamanism, Buddhism and Orthodoxy. One evening, the dog began to behave very strangely, asked to go into the house, and was clearly afraid of something.

Later in the evening in the hallway, where the exhibits from the museum were hanging in a backpack, something began to rumble violently. The woman was alone at home, and decided not to check what was happening there. From her words, she guessed that this was the intrigue of "evil spirits" and, according to the old custom, began to swear heavily (for the first time in her life). After a portion of mats, the knocking stopped. The next morning the woman found that part of the threshold in the entryway was torn out of the floor.

As a result, the analysis of the data obtained indicates that the consistency, periodicity in unusual incidents in the Revyakin Museum is poorly visible. Moreover, between them there are significant time intervals of several years. From the stories of the Otsevids, it becomes clear that anomalies in the museum or near it occur as a reaction to certain religious actions (crossing of exhibits, museum castles, calling the spirit of a shaman woman) or the presence of religious representatives (shamans, Orthodox priests). This acts as a kind of initiating events.

The Irkutsk-Kosmopoisk expert groups visited the Revyakin Museum several times - on July 25 and August 2, 2014. The purpose of the first visit was to interview the museum staff and conduct instrument measurements. We adhered to the hypothesis that a number of environmental factors may be associated with the tendency of susceptible individuals to experience certain abnormal sensations, including those associated with visions of ghosts.

One of these factors is fluctuations in the electromagnetic field (EMF) of different frequency ranges. It is believed that certain changes in EMF can affect the physiological state of a person, thereby provoking visions of ghosts.

EMI measurements in the area of ultra-low and ultra-high frequencies were carried out throughout the museum. Particular attention was paid to the stand of the shaman Odegon. As a result, we did not find significant background excess or other abnormal deviations. True, in one of the halls closest to the entrance to the museum, the gaussometer recorded short-term bursts of up to 15 milligauss (1500 nT).

During a night watch on the night of August 2–3, 2014, members of the Cosmopoisk research group took the museum under full audiovisual control. At the time of observation, all premises were disarmed. No activity was recorded, but the researchers say they felt someone's presence.

Participants of the "Cosmopoisk" tried to ask the spirits various questions, but did not receive an answer, with the exception of one case: in response to the question whether it was time for the researchers to leave, there was a knock resembling a wooden staff hitting the floor. Perhaps some evidence of the presence of spirits in the museum premises will be found in the video recordings, which are planned to be analyzed in the near future.

In addition to the factor of electromagnetic fields, a number of experts point to a combination of a number of psychological and mental factors and attitudes that are capable of triggering certain reactive processes in small social groups, thereby provoking periodic bursts of paranormal observations. These social groups, most likely, include the community of people (workers, shamans, local residents) associated with the Revyakin Museum. The factors noted here can be historical belief in shamanism and the supernatural, psychophysical state of eyewitnesses, the expectation of possible unusual events, etc.

In any case, single instrument measurements and night watch do not allow to speak in the affirmative or to deny the anomaly of this place. More detailed observations, assessments and additional measurements in the museum building are required.
