The simulation was done thanks to the StagYY software. This program was specially developed by scientists to simulate asteroid collisions between planets.

Planetary scientists have found that asteroids, whose diameter was less than 400 km, could not have a particularly destructive effect. But if the diameter exceeded 400 km, the consequences could be catastrophic. The fact is that the energy caused by the impact of a giant space body can not only evaporate water, but also trigger a whole chain of volcanic eruptions, which further aggravate the loss of light gases and water on the planet.

Most likely, Venus collided with a huge asteroid in the first hundreds of millions of years of its existence. Scientists note that if this collision occurred later, at least by 1-1.5 billion years, then such catastrophic consequences would not have happened.
