Or a face that looks like the face of a beast. Myths about creatures like minotaurs, fauns and centaurs (initially, the "horse half" of which was limited to horse legs, moreover, only two, four-legged centaurs began to be depicted much later, when the memory of real meetings with these creatures gave way to free fantasies) are met very often, among the most different nations.

This trend has not disappeared today. One of the most popular fandoms is fans of the animated series "My Little Pony", dedicated to the adventures of intelligent horses. Why them, and not the adventures of some cats or goblins? Yes, because if a horse (or, for example, an antelope) is put upright and given more or less human proportions, then it will look quite nice. It is quite possible that people, when they were slightly modified (that is, they were instilled upright posture, increased intelligence, and improved their speech apparatus), to hoofed aliens from other worlds, people are seen in a similar way.
