An unusual experiment
Some time ago, Mr. Wille met a specialist in the field of hypnosis, and he became curious: what is it - hypnosis. I wish I could test it for myself! Thanks to his skeptical mind, Ricky did not hope that anything worthwhile could come of this. And, of course, he had no idea how hypnosis might affect him. In addition, he felt some distrust of the hypnotist, since he was a short man, and Ricky's height is almost two meters. If, having switched off, Ricky suddenly began to fall backward, as it happens (Ricky saw this on TV), then it is unlikely that the short hypnotist could catch him and hold such a weight. Rikki did not even think that the hypnotist would try to make him remember his past life,however, something made him doubt - is it worth subjecting himself to such a test? But despite all the fears, Ricky still agreed to the experiment.
Ludicrous death
Mr. Wille did not remember the regressive hypnosis session. Therefore, what the hypnotist told about how he behaved during the session and what he said, he was very surprised. It turned out that Wille fully remembered his previous life! Or maybe not his own? Be that as it may, Ricky told in all the details about the life of a person whom he felt himself under hypnosis. This man lived in the English city of Tring. His name was Edward Collins. He was 34 when he died. He had a wife and two daughters. Edward was a printer by occupation. It cannot be said that his life was cloudless or even prosperous. He was neither rich nor poor - so, the middle peasant at that time. And what is characteristic, this poor fellow was always ashamed of his dirty fingers! Working as a printer, he could not wash off the ink that had been ingrained in them from his hands and all his life he did,that he tried to hide his black fingers from everyone around him.
And Ricky told under hypnosis how he died. I was about to cross the road, and here, out of nowhere, a horse harnessed to a coal cart. And the cart ran over him. He died immediately, on the spot. It happened in 1892.
During the funeral
When Ricky found out that he had told all these details about his (or is it someone else's?) Life himself - during a session of regressive hypnosis, he was extremely surprised and even amazed, shocked! What is interesting: he remembered himself not as a king or some Egyptian pharaoh, not a celebrity, as is often the case, but a simple typographic worker!
One incredible detail of this hypnotic session was that Ricky talked about the day of his (i.e. Edward's) funeral. When Edward Collins was buried, his wife wanted to put one of her most beautiful pins in the coffin before it was closed. The woman, however, was so heartbroken that at the right moment she forgot to do it. And when the coffin was already closed, she was seized with horror: how could she forget that ?! The woman was so terrified that someone advised her to throw a pin directly into the grave.
Instead of falling on the coffin, this ill-fated pin, not reaching it, caught on a ledge in the wall of the grave. There she remained - about thirty centimeters above the coffin lid. They covered the grave and, apparently, the pin had been there for all these many years …
Trip to Tring
… As time went. Ricky and his current wife seemed to have completely forgotten about the episode with hypnosis. They also forgot that story about the life of some printer. And they didn't remember until we went on vacation. It so happened that they spent this vacation near the town of Tring - the very one where a man named Edward Collins allegedly lived and died. And then Ricky was tempted to visit Tringa. He could not resist this temptation and persuaded his wife to go there, despite the fact that he had to make a big detour.
Tring did not seem like a familiar city to Ricky. He had to question the locals and, in the end, he discovered that the old cemetery was located almost next to the hotel where they were staying, just a stone's throw away. And since Mr. and Mrs. Wille were so close, why not look for something in that old cemetery? Why not see if the same Edward Collins was accidentally buried here around the time Ricky named during his regressive hypnosis session?
William and his wife went to the cemetery and began to wander there, looking around and examining the old tombstones with half-erased inscriptions on them. Finally, they stumbled upon what they were looking for. Here it is, right before their eyes - the stone of Edward Collins, who died at the age of 34 in 1892!
An incredible find
To say that the Wille couple were stunned is to say nothing. Ricky stood looking at … What? Whose headstone was he looking at? To someone else's? Or was it the burial place of his own, former, body? The feelings that he experienced at the same time were not like any others he had ever experienced before. Ricky didn't know whether to laugh or cry. But what he really did amazed his wife: he knelt down and started … digging. He tore apart the grave earth with his hands! The wife began to beg him not to do this.
- Ricky! she cried breathlessly. - For heaven's sake, what, pray tell, are you doing? Stop immediately!
However, all the pleas were in vain. His wife bent down beside him, resigned, and Ricky, as if possessed, continued frantically to dig the ground.
- If all this is true, then the pin will be right here, and I will find it! he said. “The worst thing I’ll do is take out some earth, so I’ll scoop it back up later.” I'm not going to dig deep …
Mr. Wille dug the earth a quarter meter deep when he found it - that very pin! She just lay in the ground - exactly where he predicted during the regressive hypnosis session. The couple stood there for a while, looking at each other and at the old pin in Ricky's hand …

Now Rikki is holding this pin in a box on the dresser of his bedroom. His wife does not wear this jewelry - she believes that it would be sacrilege. The spouses simply keep this relic, the meaning of which is clear only to the two of them.
Ricky's adventure was an event that changed him and his life. It made the man think about those strange feelings that he experienced then, in the old cemetery. Because there he "remembered" those landscapes and those smells that he never knew, he could not know before. Does this mean that he has just been to those places before, in his other life?
Ricky now understands why he always had an obsessive need to wash his hands often. He always thinks that his hands are not clean enough, even if he just washed them. Undoubtedly, this goes back to those ancient times, when he worked as a printer and walked around with dirty fingers, into which paint had eaten.
Ricky is overly careful when crossing streets. Moreover, at different times and in different places he saved the lives of more than one person, literally "pulling out" from under the wheels of passing vehicles. All this now makes sense for Rikki - he began to understand why he behaves this way and not otherwise.
