In 1957, an unknown craft was found in the Silpho Moor area near Scarborough, North Yorkshire, and it was believed to have crashed from the sky. The object was discovered by three local residents after they saw something luminous fall from a height into a swamp.

The artifact was found a month after the USSR launched its first satellite, so at first they thought it was satellite details. But the object was nothing like a satellite, initially there was a metal disk 17 inches (43 cm) in diameter and weighing 14 kg.

Only very small fragments remain of this disc, which were recently found in a closet of the London Science Museum. The disc was named "Silpho saucer", and its fragments lay in the museum for decades.

In 1957, news of the discovery of a crashed miniature UFO excited the British press. The fallen disk was actively studied and it was reported that there were strange hieroglyphs on its surface, presumably similar to those seen on the UFO that crashed in Roswell, USA.

It was also reported that a book with pages of copper was found inside the "saucer", on which there was a message of 2 thousand words. Some said that they were able to translate and that this message was sent by an alien named Ullo and it warned of the danger of nuclear weapons.

At the end of the message it said “you will improve or disappear”.

The remains of this UFO in the museum were discovered many years later by Dr. David Clarke of the University of Sheffield. According to him recently, when he visited the London Science Museum, one of the workers asked him in an intriguing tone, "Did you know that we have stored fragments of a flying saucer here for several decades?"

The shards lay in a museum closet in an old tin cigarette case.

“I was absolutely amazed when he opened the box and showed me these shards,” says David Clarke.

In 1963, a number of studies were carried out on this wreck at the Natural History Museum and the University of Manchester, and scientists concluded that they were in front of a very difficult and skillful rally. It was reported that someone took parts from different things and "mixed them up." So the saucer was supposedly made from an inner cylinder.

However, despite general skepticism, there were oddities. Tests showed that the shell of the "saucer" was protected from radiation by a special lead layer, and the copper parts were unusually high-grade.

After the research carried out, the pieces of the "Saucer from Silfo" went to the museum closet for decades. What happened to the main part of the UFO, and especially to the mysterious book, is nowhere reported.
