The amazing finds of archaeologists, which have been found for a long time, continue to interest scientists and do not leave the public indifferent for a long time. One of these finds is the famous "Sabu disc". The artifact received this name in honor of a famous official of ancient Egypt named Sabu, who was buried in the mastaba of an Egyptian tomb of the early and ancient periods, i.e. the burial was carried out long before the construction of the pyramids themselves. Mastaba Sabu is located near the Egyptian village of Sakara. The notorious Egyptologist Walter Emerey excavated many tombs in this village. And in 1936, an artifact was found in the tomb of Sabu, which still haunts the entire scientific world and all those who are not indifferent to archeology and the history of mankind.
What is the "Sabu disc"? This is a round product made of metal and black stone, for some reason called a plate. The part of the disc made of stone includes three petals with a complex bend, which are bent towards the center at the edges. In the central part of the stone there is a cylindrical hole, very much like a sleeve. The metal part of the circle is made of wire with a diameter of about one centimeter, it connects the petals and gives the product the shape of a circle.
Returning to our topic, I would like to note that the purpose and application of the found artifact has caused heated debate in the scientific world. It is impossible to use the "Sabu disc" as a plate for food, it also cannot be part of a lamp. Perhaps this is a part of some kind of mechanism or is it a detail? One way or another, today, there are no such finds in the world that could help determine the purpose of this thing.
By analogy with modern technology, theoretically, it can be assumed that the disc could be part of some device for mixing liquids or bulk products. But there were no traces on the disk that could indicate contact with chemicals or abrasives.
As mentioned earlier, the disk is a "saucer" with a diameter of 70 cm, on which there are curved blades, and in the middle there is a bushing. This detail allows one to assume that the disc is part of a complex and large mechanism.
A very interesting theory about the purpose of the Sabu disc was put forward by the famous Swiss film director, screenwriter, writer, and ufologist Erik von Daniken. From his point of view, the artifact looks like an airplane propeller. Scientists were initially overwhelmed, and later attacked the theory with harsh criticism. A lot of tests and calculations were carried out, which confirmed that an aircraft made of stone could not fly. Of course, it remains unclear why the researchers decided that the body of the device should be made of exactly the same material, however, they never gave an explanation for their logic. For example, modern turboprop aircraft have mostly lightweight aluminum hulls, and propellers that are made from heavier and stronger materials. At the same time, it was proved that a plane made of gold could not fly either, there is such an artifact. SoDaniken's theory has been officially refuted by scientists.
Nevertheless, Erik von Daniken said that his theory did not contain the assertion that the Sabu disk was applicable as an aircraft propeller, and suggested that the answer be found in the islands of Papua New Guinea to the cargo cult.
