The age of the dogu determined by the radiocarbon method ranges from 5000-13000 years, the geography of the finds is quite extensive (from the Japanese islands to the territory of our Far East). Some researchers believed that they belong to the culture of the Ainu, an ancient people who settled on the Japanese islands about 7000 thousand years ago.
Surprisingly, the descendants of the Ainu still live in the territory of modern Japan, and outwardly they are not at all similar to the local residents and are considered a small ethnic group. If you believe the legends, then they were forced to move to these islands by a natural cataclysm that destroyed their native land.
