The scenic countryside around the Irish city of Dublin teems with historic sites and old buildings. One such site is the old Roman Catholic seminary in Maynooth, also known as St. Patrick's College.
Since 1735, this college trained Irish priests, and in the 1830s, the so-called Rhetoric House was built next to the main building of the seminary, and soon strange stories began about room number 2 on the 3rd floor, in which frightening things are happening. …
According to the stories, either ghosts or demons live inside the room. Or all at once. At the same time, this room was among those in which the seminarians lived and with those who were settled in room number 2, frightening things often happened.
The series of suicides was opened by the case of student Sean O'Grady, who lived in this room, and then one day he opened the window and "went out" out. Falling from the third floor, he fell so badly that he died immediately. It happened in the 1840s.
At first, it was mistaken for simply an accident due to melancholy, but soon another student named Thomas McGean committed suicide in the same room. He was absent from his morning lectures that day, and when friends came after him later, they found him lying in a pool of blood with his throat cut. And he did it himself, judging by the knife in his hand.

After this suicide, no one was settled in room number 2 for a year, but a year later they decided to reopen it. And the first seminarian who moved there was soon found dead and with his throat cut.
The next student after him was found on the lawn with broken bones after jumping out of a window. The fate of this survivor deserves a separate article, but in short - he miraculously recovered from his wounds, became a priest, and then a vice president of the college. And when he was already quite an adult, he finally told another priest about what happened to him in that room.

It turns out that he saw a terrible vision there in the mirror when he washed his face in the morning, it was the face of a demon and this demon began to make him cut his throat. His voice was so insistent that it was impossible to get rid of him … except to jump out the window.

After this story, the priest decided to spend one night in room number 2. What he saw there, he did not tell later, but in the morning he left the room muttering incoherently and with completely gray hair.
It sounds incredible, but the college tried to carefully keep silent about all these suicides and the next new student who moved into the damn room number 2 was never told about what happened here with the previous residents. Only in later years did they finally stop housing students here and converted the room into a utility room.
However, the room still retained an ominous halo and soon interested researchers of anomalous phenomena. They came here to personally spend at least a night in the room. One of these was the well-known researcher and writer Hans Holzer in the 1970s. Among Holzer's cases, the most famous was the case in Amityville, but for the anomalous room in Ireland, he specially came here from the United States.

As soon as he entered the room, Holzer felt something very evil and fear enveloped him. He had a strong desire to immediately run out of the room and run away without looking back (some other researchers did this). At the same time, Holzer did not see any ghosts or demons here, but other researchers saw here a creepy four-legged creature, a ghost and traces of blood that appear on the floor by themselves - probably marks from previous suicides.
Due to the story with the reflection of the demon in the mirror, even now all visitors to the room are strictly prohibited from bringing mirrors with them, even small ones.
Today's curious visitors come here in search of thrills and then talk about the dark figures seen from the corners of their eyes and the intense coldness that washed over their bodies. Their phones also break down regularly.
