Video: Are We Living in A Computer Simulation? | Gregg Braden 2024, May

In recent years, the theory that all reality around us is nothing more than a computer simulation has become increasingly popular and widespread. And it was created by highly developed beings, for the purpose of the experiment. Now they are watching us and drawing their conclusions. Looking at how rapidly computers are developing, how large amounts of data they manage to process, it seems that there are more and more confirmations of this theory. And every year the efficiency and power of computing systems only increases. Because of this, even the most ardent skeptics begin to admit the possibility that we are just participants in a simulation.

This idea was expressed not only by dreamers, authors of science fiction books and screenwriters of films, but also by large banking institutions, businessmen (for example, Elon Musk) and even leading scientists. But not all professionals share this opinion. They built their reasoning around one simple statement. In our world, every moment so many elements interact in different combinations that it is simply impossible to come up with a system, even hypothetically, that would cope with the processing of these volumes.

Evidence of lack of computer simulation

As a result, while some people are looking for evidence that our whole life is nothing more than a computer simulation, others are trying to refute it. A group of scientists working at the University of Oxford are confident that it is too early to speak about the creation of such a system, even purely theoretically. To prove this, they turned to calculating quantum effects.

Every second in our entire universe, particles interact at a quantum level. It is simply impossible to count their number, and the results of this interaction can be obtained only by distributing probabilities.

Physicists have also considered the quantum Hall effect. It is characterized by the fact that under some circumstances, an electric current appears in the metal. Using modern techniques to describe quantum interactions in matter, the researchers realized one thing. Even to simulate just a few electrons, an incredibly powerful system is indispensable. And the more new particles there are, the more difficult it is to carry out the necessary calculations.

Thus, in order to preserve all the information about the interactions of at least a couple of hundred electrons, you need such an amount of matter that does not exist in the entire Universe available to us! And this is only for one effect, and there are many more.

Thus, there are serious physical limitations, which are difficult to argue with.

Although it is worth clarifying that it is usually said that this system was created in a world where physical laws are the same as ours. But in fact, it is unlikely that the same parameters operate in it. Therefore, the possibility remains that we still live in a matrix created in a completely different reality. Perhaps they have their own physics and such calculations are not so difficult. There is also an option that certain limitations were built into the model, because of which the calculation of quantum effects is not so easy for us.
