Legends, rock paintings and traces of amazing technical achievements that have come down to us from ancient times, when mankind did not yet know writing, suggest that our distant ancestors possessed knowledge that was later lost. There are theories asserting that aliens from other worlds played the role of their teachers, gods and even the creators of ancient civilizations. Here are just a few examples of such ancient mysteries. True, many of them, if not all, can be fully explained without resorting to UFO assistance. It is only the lack of indisputable evidence of their origin that keeps the general public interested in these "secrets" to this day.
On Easter Island, lost in the vastness of the Pacific Ocean, hundreds of similar stone giants were found, half buried in the ground. Their weight reaches 50 tons, and their height is from 10 to 20 meters. Some researchers seriously believe that they represent a visual demonstration of the advances in extraterrestrial technology.
However, Thor Heyerdahl (the one who sailed across the Pacific on the Kon-Tiki raft) carried out a number of experiments here, concerning both the creation and installation of these giant statues. Ultimately, he came to the conclusion that the islanders could well have erected them without any outside help.
In ancient times wide straight roads up to 8 kilometers long were laid near the Peruvian city of Nazca in South America, on a plateau, towering 400 meters above sea level. When viewed from the air, they vaguely resemble a certain airfield, where UFOs could land in ancient times. For comparison, the plan for London Heathrow Airport can be cited. The design of these "stripes" is extremely primitive - they are just a semblance of glades, cleared on the rocky surface of the plateau. They may have something to do with ancient astronomical research, but it seems highly unlikely that advanced "extraterrestrial" technology was used in their construction.
According to some researchers, the Egyptian pyramids were also built using advanced space technology. No evidence has yet been found for this theory, but it cannot be denied that the pyramids do contain a number of mysteries that have not yet been explained by science. Experiments were carried out with a reduced model of the Great Pyramid of Cheops, which is about 4500 years old. It has been found that food items placed inside the pyramid do not grow moldy, but dry out quickly and thus remain for a very long time. True, the very fact that we cannot guess the meaning of these drawings does not at all prove that they are dedicated to aliens from Space.
In Japan, a decorative bronze figurine was found, 60 centimeters high. If desired, she could be mistaken for the figure of an astronaut in a space suit, a helmet with goggles and belted with straps for attaching all kinds of equipment; however, with the same success, this "spacesuit" could have been ordinary armor or some kind of ceremonial attire.
Near Palenque, Mexico, there is a Mayan tomb decorated with intricate patterns; its age is about 1300 years. This curious image can be interpreted as an attempt to capture a certain creature controlling the spacecraft. If you look at it from this angle, the entire structure actually remotely resembles a launching spacecraft.
UFO sightings have been conducted for a long time, but it has only recently begun to collect and generalize this information. Before the advent of newspapers, very few UFO incidents were made public.
