A man named Suresh lives in Tamil Nadu state in southern India.
He was born with a rare anomaly of the facial bones of the skull called lion's face syndrome or leontiasis ossea.
This extremely rare and incurable anomaly is also deadly. Without surgery, the skull bones of patients are constantly enlarged and deformed, and a person can die due to an increase in cerebral pressure.
The lion's face syndrome is so rare that according to doctors, only a few such cases are known in the world.
At the age of 18, Suresh's cheekbones began to grow strongly, turning the man's face into something that looked like an alien's head. Due to the increase in cheekbones, the man suffered from both the eye sockets and the bones of the nose.
For more than twenty years, the 41-year-old Indian has spent in search of someone who will rid him of overgrown bones. And recently he finally got lucky and in the city of Nagerkoil he found a group of surgeons who agreed to operate on him for free.
Thanks to Dr. Sunil Richardson, Suresh's face is now more or less normal.

After the operation, Suresh spent a couple of days in intensive care, and then another 10 days in the hospital, after which he was discharged.
