Since childhood, almost every child, from the stories of adults, learns about an unknown animal that lives in Loch Ness in Scotland. However, what kind of creature it is, no one can say to this day. As evidence of his life, there are only photographs of a strange creature with a "fin". From this photograph it follows that this creature clearly cannot belong to any large mammal or any species of shark.
So what is the mystery of the Loch Ness Monster? Does it really exist or is it all about visual deception?
If you trust the Celtic legends, then the Romans were "familiar" with this monster at the time of their great conquests. The first mention of an unprecedented beast was recorded in the annals of the fifth century AD, which speaks of the existence of a monster that lives in the Nessus River. However, since then, no one remembered the strange aquatic inhabitant until the 19th century, when, under unknown circumstances, a sailboat with people went to the bottom in these waters. The most inexplicable in this story is the fact that the weather did not portend any trouble, so no one could establish the exact cause of the tragedy. After the local population learned about this story, the national folklore began to take shape by itself. Stories and stories, cold blood in the veins, about a monster that will kill everyone who invades his domain were born at an incredible speed.
Over time, such stories have received widespread publicity. One of the local newspapers even published a large spread, where in an interview the spouses who lived near the lake told that they had come across this monster face to face.
Local authorities could not pass up the opportunity to capitalize on this story. And therefore, a road to the lake was specially built, where a huge number of curious travelers began to flock, eager to see a mystical creature. The previously calm and quiet place has become too lively. Here at any time of the day one could meet photographers, local onlookers or tourists. Local residents have even begun to build so-called observation posts.
The popularity of this place has grown so much that the local authorities seriously thought that it was time to catch the "river devil". But this decision quickly came to naught, as scientists argued that there was no solid evidence that this monster really exists.
The next mention of Nessie was made only during the Second World War. According to the English pilot, flying past the island, he was able to see a creature of enormous size, similar to the Loch Ness monster. But due to the difficult situation in the world, the stories of the pilot Farrell were quickly forgotten. In the 50s, several eyewitnesses also claimed to have seen the outlines of an unknown beast.
In 1954, a book was released called "This is more than a legend", which describes all the eyewitness accounts and possible guesses that suggest that Nessie does exist.

But the stories are not reliable evidence of the existence of the "river devil". Among the indisputable evidence that could become direct explanations for Nessie's life would be some photographs. So, for example, a snapshot of Doctor Wilson, which shows the end of the tail sticking out of the water. The photo could indicate that this animal cannot be ranked among the most common and studied. Even the smallest piece of the imprinted fragment of a fin or tail indicates a non-standard anatomical structure. Unfortunately, in the course of research, it was proved that the photograph cannot be considered authentic. A little later, the author himself admitted that the picture was a high-quality fake.
Another snapshot could tell that the monster still exists. This is a photograph taken by aeronaut T. Dinsdale. The image shows a large footprint left by a creature of considerable size. For a long time, this photograph was considered to be proof of the existence of the monster. But, unfortunately, in 2005, numerous studies confirmed the fact that this is just a trace left by a boat.
The lake was later examined by various ultrasound analyzes. The latest equipment failed to answer the question that worries the whole world. Inexplicable vibrations and other phenomena were established, which still cannot be explained by any scientist. The most recent evidence is considered to be an image from a Google map, where a blurred white spot was recorded in the lake, vaguely similar to the monster itself. But one cannot ignore the fact that as a result of the study it was established: the flora of the lake is very scarce, therefore it simply cannot provide so many vital resources for the life of the monster.
Until today, there is no generally accepted version of what the local residents did see. Was it a visual deception, or did they manage to see something mystical and inexplicable from the point of view of science?
There is also a version that says that the whole story with the Loch Ness Monster is a staged by the owners of local hotels. Since before the rumors about Nessie, tourists were rarely here, then, of course, every cafe or hotel was a loss-making enterprise. To fundamentally change the situation, businessmen probably had to use the maximum of their imagination. But what person admits that it was just a figment of his imagination? Therefore, the mystery about the existence of the Loch Ness monster remains a mystical secret of a seemingly unremarkable lake. The question of whether it will ever be solved in the future is unknown, since modern equipment, although it found some unexplained waves and vibrations, it was not possible to establish the cause of their occurrence.
