Edwards' book Strange People tells about a girl named Shanti Devi, born in 1926 in Delhi (India), who at the age of three began to claim that she had previously lived with her husband Kedarnath in the city of Muttra and died in childbirth. This Kedarnath was found, and he confirmed the girl's words. It turned out that Kedarnath's wife had died a year before the birth of Shanti. Despite the questions of numerous researchers, Shanti was never mistaken in the stories about the life of the family from Muttra, unknown not only to her, but also to her parents. Scientists who took part in the experiment finally agreed that a child born in 1926 in Delhi clearly and with all the details "remembers" the life of a woman who died in 1925 in Muttra. However, they did not find a scientific explanation for this case.
Hereditary memory
It would seem that these testimonies (by the way, carefully documented) are memories of previous incarnations of the soul and confirm that every person really lives on Earth more than once. But is there any other explanation for the strange outbursts of memory that many more people are actually exposed to than is commonly thought?
It is hard to believe, but it was Soviet scientists who, back in the 1960s, put forward an explanation of the phenomenon of "strange memory", incredible for those atheistic times. In their opinion, in the depths of our brain, at the level of genes, all the experience of previous generations of the genus is stored in a carefully "locked" and "packed" form. And it is this experience at the subconscious level that guides our behavior, especially in situations where you need to quickly make a vital decision. The signal coming from this kind of repository of memory of past generations makes us lean towards a certain action based on the experience of our ancestors, who at one time had already “passed, learned and experienced” all this.
Thus, a completely materialistic basis was laid under the hereditary memory. If brain cells “remember” the physical characteristics of their ancestors, persistently passing them on from generation to generation in the form of a tendency to certain diseases, food, character traits and even gestures, why not assume that some of the genes also contain life experience? He is locked away from us for obvious reasons: it is impossible to keep in the current memory thousands of stories of the life of the ancestors, starting from cave times, without a threat to the psyche. But if the experience of the ancestors is suddenly needed, then the mechanism for turning on the necessary part of it works automatically and gives the descendant the required dose.
Mysterious fifteen percent
Soon, however, Soviet ideologists, sensing that the theory of hereditary (or genetic) memory was too mystic, rushed to declare it erroneous and even harmful. As a result, all research in this area was initially classified, and then completely reduced to nothing.
But in the world interest in the problem has not been lost. A book by the famous psychologist and psychiatrist Dr. George Cumming "Whisper from Eternity" has been published in the USA, which contains descriptions of more than a thousand cases of reincarnation. It also provides statistics according to which 85 percent of cases can be explained by hereditary memory, that is, the memory of ancestors lurking in the depths of the subconscious. These are mainly cases when a person finds himself in a too distant past, when it is almost impossible to check whether he had ancestors in that area at that time. However, the remaining 15 percent do not fit into the theory of hereditary memory. These are cases similar to the stories of Kathy and Shanti.
Connection with the souls of the ancestors
The results of decoding the human genome led scientists to the conclusion that there are simply no structures there that could store such a colossal amount of information, which should be the memory of all the ancestors of a given person, and not only primitive people, but (if you follow the logic) of all his animal ancestors over billions of years of evolution.
Still, there is a certain hereditary memory. This, in particular, is evidenced by the data of eugenics - the science of the transmission of hereditary qualities from parents to children. However, many scientists generally do not recognize the right to be called a science for eugenics, there is too much vague, mysterious, even mystical in it. In many ways, eugenics merges with the theory of hereditary memory.
The idea of hereditary memory makes sense if we assume that the soul, or the astral body of a person, still exists and after the death of the physical body continues to live, preserving the memory and all life experience of the person. There is a lot of evidence that the souls of deceased parents are invisibly connected with children.
These souls can come into contact with them or even appear to them in order, for example, to give advice, warn, somehow direct their actions. In addition to parents, the souls of grandparents also participate in the fate of children, and so on - along the chain of ancestors. The souls of all human ancestors participate in his fate, and for this it is not at all necessary to have in the brain a warehouse in which their memory would be kept in a sealed form; an organ that would serve as a receiver of signals sent by deceased ancestors to their living descendant is quite enough. Physiologically, such a receiver can be the pineal gland of the brain ("third eye"), which, according to parapsychologists, is an essential part of the mechanism of clairvoyance. So that 85 percent of cases that, according to J. Cumming, are examples of hereditary memory,- these are in fact examples of precisely the connection between the souls of deceased ancestors and their descendants.
True, this raises the question: why should some souls of ancestors who lived in distant eras to remind of themselves, and sometimes in a rather annoying form? As, for example, in the case of the same Sasha from Nizhny Novgorod? The reasons for this can only be guessed at. Perhaps the ancestor-blacksmith wanted to hint to the boy that it would also be nice for him to choose a similar life path for himself, in which success awaits him. Whatever the reasons for such phenomena, the latter are usually short-lived and stop without harm to humans.
It is quite different with the remaining 15 percent of Cumming statistics flashbacks. These cases were clearly not provoked by ancestors. Indeed, Conchita cannot be the ancestor of Kathy, and the wife of Kedarnath is the ancestor of Shanti! So do these 15 percent of cases really confirm that there is a series of soul reincarnations - the wheel of samsara?..
Posthumous wanderers
Analyzing these cases, J. Cumming discovered an amazing pattern. All the memories of past lives of the heroes of these stories had a tragic ending. Katie, as you remember, drowned. Shanti died in childbirth. One Indian boy, who at the age of five “remembered” his former life in the guise of a businessman from a neighboring town, “remembered” that the businessman was shot by bandits. Another Indian girl, who even remembered where the treasure was buried by her husband from a previous life, was (in that previous life) killed by a relative. Someone remembered that he died on the Titanic, someone crashed in a car accident and so on. In short, not a single recollection of a normal calm old age life was found among the remaining 15 percent!
What does parapsychology know about people whose lives ended tragically? The same as religion: the souls of suicides, murderers and their victims, as well as victims of sudden, premature death, rarely leave the earth in the same way as the souls of other people leave this world. It is this category of unfortunate souls that generates a lot of anomalies in our reality: ghosts, poltergeists, possibly even fireballs and UFOs … The inhabitants are by no means paradise, they, in fact, rush between two worlds - ours and the other world.
“Since the human soul consists of very subtle energetic matter, it is quite capable of taking possession of any material body, especially one as defenseless as the body of a child,” suggests J. Cumming. - What happens then? Energy, and with it the memory of two souls mix, merge."
With age, the child ceases to see these other people's lives. Probably, the unfortunate souls leave him, setting off on their further wanderings.
