Scientists have proven that the Shroud of Turin is real. Until recently, the authenticity of the artifact was in doubt, but in 2017 Italian researchers, using the latest developments, conducted a repeated radiocarbon analysis. So what did the experts find?
The Shroud of Turin is dated to the 1st century. AD (more precisely, 33 years old). These are the results shown by studies conducted in Italy in early 2017.
In the 20th century, scientists already checked the dating of the Shroud by radiocarbon analysis, then the artifact was recognized as a fake. Past research has attributed the creation of the shroud to the Middle Ages.
According to other researchers, the authenticity of the artifact does not raise any doubts, because the face of Christ, imprinted on the canvas, is applied to the fabric by a method that cannot even be repeated today using the latest technologies.
According to one of the hypotheses at the time of the resurrection, the body of Jesus wrapped in matter created an electric charge with a force of 50 million volts - this is a charge equal to 50 lightning bolts and it was this Divine flash that became the appearance of the image on the fabric.
However, in the entire history of the artifact, the shroud had more than 30 counterfeit copies, and to this day the Turin was considered one of them.

In 2009, Professor of Organic Chemistry Luigi Garlaskelli from the Italian University of Pavia announced that he had managed to make a copy of the Turin Shroud. The scientist used medieval technology: he smeared a person with paint, wrapped him with linen, and then applied blood stains to the shroud and artificially aged it. At first glance, the result obtained cannot be distinguished from the Shroud of Turin.

A number of researchers believe that the Shroud of Turin was created in the Middle Ages by the papal order of the Knights Templar in order to strengthen the position of the Catholic Church in world politics.
The 14th century, when the find was made public, historians call the period of forgeries: miraculous chips from the crucifix, amulets from thorn branches from the head of Jesus and healing pieces of cloth from the shroud. These were the days of the plague, from which hundreds of thousands died in Europe, there was no medicine and people needed miracles.
For 665 years since its discovery, the Turin shroud has been repeatedly declared a fake, there were even versions that Leonardo da Vinci himself was engaged in its manufacture, however, this theory was quickly debunked. The fact is that Leonardo was born in 1452, and the first information about the Turin shroud dates back to 1353.
Technologies of the last century dated the shroud to the 13th century until today, for official science, the relic was considered a fake, but after analyzes carried out in Italy, the shroud was returned to its sacred status.
