The guru of modern mystics and researchers of the unknown, Nicholas Roerich, believed that Baikal is one of several centers of increased energy on Earth, where the energy flows of the planet itself and space merge.

It is difficult to say what exactly Roerich had in mind, but the fact that he voiced the opinion of all the mystics of the planet is absolutely certain. Probably, it is worth understanding why they all consider the lake sacred and how this is expressed in practice.

Shamanism is the most ancient religious form, which originated, neither more nor less, back in the Stone Age, when there were no states, and the life of people was based only on gathering and hunting. In fact, this form of religious worldview was in one form or another widespread wherever people lived.

To this day, one can easily trace that this was so, because today shamans exist not only in Siberia, but also in Africa, Asia, America.

Of course, it is worth noting that shamanism is widespread only in areas with a low level of education and general development of life. This is probably a key element in the preservation of ancient paradoxical beliefs.

The essence of the shaman's work lies in his ability to enter a trance and in this way communicate with the sacred spirits. The Baikal shamans call this process a ritual. The word "kamlat" comes from the Turkic "kam", which means the same shaman. And the word "shaman" itself comes from the Tungus expression, meaning an excited person in a trance.

Many people think that the Siberian shaman is exclusively engaged in clairvoyance and weather changes. In fact, and this is one of the reasons for the sustainable preservation of this culture in Siberia, it plays a much more important role in the social life of small peoples. He is not only a magician and a clergyman, but also a doctor and the main consultant on the most important issues, without whom you can hardly do.

To successfully perform a ritual, that is, to enter a trance, a Baikal shaman must wear a special ritual costume, put on the appropriate make-up and surround and “arm” himself with the necessary tools (for example, a fire, a tambourine, etc.).

Then he gathers the necessary people around the fire and, having brought a ritual sacrifice and something like an incantation and an entry at the same time, begins to directly enter into a trance to communicate with the spirits. To do this, he makes rhythmic sounds using a tambourine and rattles on clothes. In order to completely switch the work of the mind in a different way, it makes peculiar movements, similar to a dance, to the beat.

Gradually the rhythm accelerates and the sound level increases. For the final entry into a trance, a light narcotic smoke is used, which comes from a fire from a burning "salad" of selected special herbs and mushrooms. As a result, not only the shaman himself, but also many spectators find themselves under the strongest influence of hypnotic and hallucinogenic factors, which introduce them into an altered state of consciousness, in which contact with spirits occurs.

The spirits themselves can be different: Earth, Heaven, deceased relatives, animals, etc. These spirits capture the entire being of the shaman, and he can completely lose control over himself. A strange speech flows from his mouth, which supposedly comes directly from the spirits.

At the very end, he may faint and leave his body. The spirit of the shaman flies out of the body in order to establish and solve this or that problem. The rituals differ depending on the purpose. If, for example, it is a question of calling one or another weather, the shaman may not enter into a deep trance.

Very similar scenarios are developed in other shamanistic cultures in all parts of the world. It should be noted that there is nothing funny about such rituals. From the point of view of hypnosis, official and well-known to all, all these procedures are ideal for entering a deep trance state.

However, the very fact of the ritual would mean nothing if it had no applied application. But even here, from a purely pragmatic position, there are powerful rational arguments in favor of the reliability of the information received by the shaman during the ritual.

We are talking about the role of the subconscious in such states, which has an incredible resource and can give a person really correct information that he, it seemed, could not know in principle. All the controlling subconsciousness easily calculates many things by indirect signs, but the problem is that we cannot translate this information into a language understandable to the consciousness.

And in such altered states of consciousness, such as during the ritual or even more during the "out-of-body travel" that I study, the human consciousness comes into direct contact with the resources of the internal super-powerful computer.

In shamanism, however, very little self-control remains, but even without this, the result can be serious.

Thus, based on the most mundane scientific knowledge, it is possible to substantiate the effectiveness of shamanism in such matters as determining the weather, the future, methods of treatment and much more. That is why you should not be skeptical about such practices.

To some extent, they can be more powerful than any others in the developed Western world. Moreover, the practice of kamlania can surpass other practices for working with consciousness known to modern science.

However, you should not think that you can only properly dress up and beat the tambourine correctly in order to be considered a shaman. These are not basic conditions at all. The shamans themselves admit that in their midst there are many "mummers" who do not know how to do anything and thereby discredit the entire shamanic culture for an outside observer.

The point is that you can only be born as a shaman. To be a shaman most often means to have a powerful patron spirit that can only be inherited. There are other ways and opportunities to become a shaman, but very rarely.

From the point of view of common sense, hereditary shamanism can be explained by a genetic predisposition to such a practice, which has completely harmless and understandable forms: a developed imagination, the ability to easily change the state of consciousness, high ambitions, etc.

The spread of the same rituals throughout the Earth is of great interest. It couldn't have been a coincidence. In my opinion, this is a sign of the effectiveness of the method, which is universal for contact with the subconscious and which is easiest to reproduce exactly in this form (rhythm, sound, narcotic smell, etc.). That is why almost the same rituals are found in sultry Africa and in cold Siberia, separated by many thousands of kilometers.

We very often think that somewhere far away there may be something better than near us. All people on our planet think the same. That is why the Mexican shaman Kachora has been dreaming of getting to our native Baikal for many years.

The situation is interesting in that this is the same Cachora, most likely, is the prototype of the well-known don Juan from the works of Carlos Castaneda.

For many years in our country, mystics have gone crazy with the delight generated by Castaneda's books, while their main character wants to visit us.

For any shaman, Baikal is the most cult place wherever he lives.

And it is precisely this understanding of things that pushes Grandfather Tezlcazi Guitimea Cachora, one of the most famous shamans in Mexico, to come to exchange experience with his Siberian relatives, whom he considers the most advanced in the world.

This suggests that we should not be too enthusiastic about distant cultures and beliefs, their practices and worldview. On the territory of Russia, there are no less ancient and no less developed cultures that offer no less interesting magical practices.

Why is Baikal a cult place for shamans? According to legends, it is in the Baikal region that the sacred center of the entire northern hemisphere is located. To be precise, this center is located on the largest island of the lake - Olkhon. To be more precise, in the glade "World tree" near the village of Kharantsy.

It is here that the most important events in the world of shamanism often take place. It is here that rituals are performed dedicated to the most pressing and vital issues for all mankind. Representatives of the entire shamanic world regularly come here.

It's amazing how many human aspirations are centered around the lake. It is an important ecological storehouse of the world. Here is the largest supply of fresh water. Convenient geopolitical position, intriguing all neighbors. An incredible lost world with the most unique plants and animals.

And, as it turns out, this is the central place of all mystics on the planet. What else is hidden in this place? Maybe it really is the most unique of all on the planet?
