A terrible gift
In 1970, Donna, a nurse student, received an antique Ruggedy-Anne doll from her beloved mother as a birthday present. Taking the doll to her small apartment, which she shared with her roommate, she put the toy on her bed and for a long time did not pay any attention to it. But one day both girls noticed that the doll began to crawl a little, and soon they began to notice that the doll began to change its position, and then it could be completely in the wrong place where it was put.

Donna and her roommate Angie saw that at first the doll was sitting cross-legged and arms on the sofa, but after a while it was already upright. She got to her feet and leaned against the chair in the kitchen. Several times before leaving for work, Donna put her on the bed, and when she returned home, she saw that the door of her room was locked and the doll was lying on the floor.
This toy not only moved, but also wrote. After about a month of constant observation, Donna and Angie began to find strange messages that were written in pencil on parchment paper, for example, one of them said "Help us." The letter was handwritten and looked like it was written by a very young child.
Demon or the spirit of a young girl?
They knew they had to do something about this sinister doll. The girls contacted a medium who helped them conduct the session. Donna and Angie were contacted by a spirit named Annabel Higgins who told them his story. Annabelle explained that she was a young girl who lived near Donna's house.
Annabelle told the girls that she feels comfortable and safe with them and wants to stay with them and be loved by everyone. Showing sympathy for Annabelle and her story, Donna allowed her to live in the doll and stay with them. They soon found out that Annabelle was not as good as they thought.
Who paid first?
The girls' mutual friend Lou, who at that time also lived in this apartment, never liked the doll and warned Donna to get rid of it as soon as possible. And if soon she does not do this, then he will get rid of her personally. One night, his fears came true. Suddenly awakening from a deep sleep, Lou was horrified that he was completely paralyzed. When he looked at his legs, he saw a doll, it was Annabelle. She began to slide slowly over his leg, then moved to his chest and soon stopped. Then, just a few seconds later, the doll pounced on him and began to choke him. Paralyzed and panting, he suddenly passed out. In the morning he woke up, was scared and sure that it was not a dream.

The next terrifying encounter he experienced was when he and Angie were left alone in the apartment, preparing for another trip home. Hearing a strange loud noise from Donna's room, Lou walked quietly to the bedroom door and waited until the strange noises were over before entering the room and turning on the light. Upon entering the room, he found that there was no one there except for the doll, which looked like it had been casually thrown into a corner.
He began to look for something suspicious in the room, and when he came closer to the doll, he had a clear impression that it was as if someone was standing behind him. Turning abruptly and looking around, he was surprised that no one was there. Then, literally a few seconds later, he grabbed his chest from severe pain, bent over, blood flowed from his chest. There were marks from seven sharp nails, three vertically and four horizontally. Everyone was hot, as if burned.
Help urgently
Finally, in order to finally make sure that the spirit of the young girl who lived in this doll was really not as good as she imagined it to be, Donna contacted a priest named Cook, who immediately turned to knowledgeable people. Ed and Lorraine Warren were already quite famous personalities - researchers of the paranormal. They were the ones who were investigating the notorious case known as the Amityville Horror. After talking with everyone in Donna's apartment, Ed and Lorraine came to the conclusion that the doll was not possessed, but instead was manipulated by evil spirits. They used the doll simply to create the illusion that she was alive. The sinister spirit was not going to remain attached only to the doll. The Warrens told the girls that he wanted to take possession of the human body instead.
How did the spirit get into the doll?
First, the Warrens began to move the doll around the apartment by teleportation to arouse the occupier's curiosity in the hope that they would receive at least some recognition from him. When the girls held a seance, they themselves let the evil spirit into their apartment, allowed it to live in the doll's body. Since then, the evil spirit began to communicate and take advantage of the emotional vulnerability of girls, while pretending to be a harmless, lost young girl.
The Warrens believed that the next stage of the demonic phenomenon is the complete mastery of the evil spirit of the human body. If these experiences continued for another 2 or 3 weeks, then the spirit would completely take over the human body, and also maim or kill one or all of the inhabitants of this house.

Upon completion of the investigation, the Warrens considered it appropriate to recite several prayers to drive out evil spirits in order to completely cleanse the apartment.
