No sooner had Great Britain recovered from the shock after the "Beast from the East" (as the British media called the abnormal frosts that covered a significant part of Europe about a week ago), an equally severe storm "Emma" attacked the British Isles.

After "Emma" walked along the coastline of East Yorkshire, the locals found millions of marine life washed ashore. There were crabs and lobsters and various types of fish and octopuses and various sizes of mollusks in shells, even carcasses of seals.

All of these creatures quickly perished. The fishermen managed to save only a small part of the lobsters. They were pulled from the beach and thrown into the water.

The sea inhabitants were thrown onto the beach near the village of Freysthorpe, whose inhabitants still cannot get away from the shocking sight that they saw after the storm.

Earlier, during "The Beast from the East", thousands of starfish were thrown onto the same beach, and it would seem that it could not be worse for the local fauna.

According to fisherman Jack Sanderson, it all looked like a huge battle scene, only instead of dead soldiers there were fish, lobster, crabs, sponges, scallops, oysters and others everywhere. It seemed that every form of marine life within a radius of several kilometers was simply transferred from the ocean to the beach.

“This all happened after strong 9-point winds from the east, combined with a 6.2-meter high tide and the fact that there was frost and a lot of snow. On that day, the water temperature also dropped by 2 degrees. And after that, the waves began to massively wash all these creatures ashore. And it still continues with every wave."

Sanderson's only hope is that the storms will not disrupt the local environment and that the number of dead sea creatures will recover. Otherwise, the consequences for the entire fishing industry will be disastrous.

Fishing boat skipper Jason Harrison says hundreds of thousands of lobsters and just millions of mussels washed ashore. So many that it’s impossible to calculate the exact number.

“The number of velvet crabs was also incredible. And I would say that 80 to 90 percent of the entire local lobster population died here. In thirty years I have seen such mass deaths of marine animals only three times."
