Mike Hughes is well known in the United States, especially among the supporters of the "Flat Earth" theory. This creative 61-year-old is famous for doing all kinds of crazy tricks. In particular, in 2002, he entered the Guinness Book of Records, having flown a record distance in a car jumping from a springboard.

Over the past few years, Mike has become a staunch flat-earth believer and, unlike millions of couch conspiracy theorists, has made real efforts to prove dogmatic evidence. He builds manned ballistic missiles with the intent to climb high enough to take a photo and prove that the Earth is actually a flat disk and not a ball.

In 2014, Michael assembled his first manned rocket, but flew on it no more than a kilometer:

In 2016, Mike began fundraising on a kickstarter to dig up $ 150,000 for his next project, however, as you can see, the millionth Flat Earth community raised him only $ 310, which is not enough for a flight into space even by Juche standards.

Mike did not give up, obtained the required amount in other ways and built his "Juche bird", which on November 25, 2017 was supposed to make a historic flight to the borders of space. As a spaceport, Mike chose the Mojave Desert, with an area of 35,000 square kilometers, nevertheless, the California authorities saw a danger in the flight and was formally banned.

But Mike did not give up again. He found not a poor guy named Albert Okura, who has a private part of the Mojave Desert and no California authorities can forbid him anything. The launch of the manned rocket is scheduled for February 3, as Mike's fans recently announced on social media.

As far as can be assumed from Mike's interview and the demonstrated mock-ups of his design, he is going to make a stratospheric jump, which, in general, did before him:

As you can see from this video, such an experiment is an expensive undertaking. Even a flight to a height of 50 kilometers, followed by a jump, requires an expensive spacesuit, which will not be able to keep up with $ 150,000. The rocket will cost even more. At the same time, the samples shown by Mike on the test benches would horrify even the apparently valiant missilemen of North Korea:

Based on these pictures, we have very big doubts about the outcome of Mike's idea, on such hardware he has every chance of breaking and it is not entirely clear - why is it all needed?

Technically, for $ 150,000 (and Mike seems to have collected about two million in the end), you can build a rocket that will rise with a TV camera to an altitude of about a hundred kilometers or more. And all questions will disappear by themselves. Mike as a person commands great respect for us, but as a thinker he is not held in high esteem. Why fly into the stratosphere and risk breaking your neck? Everything can be made easier.

We have already touched on the theory of "Flat Earth" somehow. We see disputes on this topic as harmful and completely meaningless, since the very subject of the dispute smacks of the dark Middle Ages. For discussions of some dark degenerates in the seas, who have seen nothing in life except the paddle of their drakkar, the flat-round dispute is quite relevant. But in the 21st century?

With the development of knowledge in the field of geography, smart people began to assume that the Earth is generally hollow. We have already cited as an example the experiments of Ahnenerbe - a secret occult organization in Germany, trying to get to the bottom of the structure of the world. When today various adherents, enlightened by the teachers of the Middle School, begin to accuse the supporters of the flat Earth of illiteracy and moronicism, they, for a moment, forget about this very "German Society for the Study of Ancient Germanic History and Ancestral Heritage". The best minds of Germany of that time, engineers, physicists and mathematicians, were drawn there, according to whose books they have been studying at universities for almost a hundred years. These people would not even talk with the enlightened High School because there would be nothing to talk about. And for all their knowledge, part of this academic public believed that the Earth was a hollow sphere, that we live on its inner surface.

However, again - these were the adepts of the middle of the last century. The development of technology gives its own and today sometimes children in some issues will be smarter than the academicians of the past. The abstract philosophy of the 19th and 20th centuries is real, obvious and very understandable for them.

For example, there is such a philosophical trend as solipsism. The whole concept in detail is incredibly complex, mixed by crowds of theorists, but the general essence is simple there. If you have a piano in your room and you are looking at it, then the piano exists. But as soon as you take your eyes off him and look, for example, out the window, the piano disappears. It ceases to exist. It only appears again the moment you look at it.

Even for the enlightened adepts in the 20th century, especially the adepts who lived much earlier, such a philosophy of the world order seemed purely bullshit. It could neither be refuted nor proven. It was even more difficult to imagine. However, with the advent of computers in the masses, with the development of video games, the ideas of George Berkeley, which many contemporaries considered nuts, were suddenly embodied in the gaming industry.

When you walk through the levels in some kind of shooting game, only information about the vertices (the points that make up three-dimensional objects) that you are looking at is loaded into the processor's memory. That is, in your reality they do not exist and they appear there only when they are in the player's field of vision. The entire level is already in RAM, while other levels are generally on the hard drive and in the DVD box.

A number of phenomena in physics and psychology suggest that our world is just a computer simulation, and with a probability of even more than 50%. If this is true, then what kind of round or flat earth can we talk about at all?

In the video below, an enlightened and educated engineer is trying to convey all this to younger adepts. But, along the way, no one even listens:

Neither we, nor anyone else can explain how the world really works. In practice, we are closer to the generally accepted picture with a round Earth, planets and everything else. However, everything can be done differently. It is possible that our world is a variant of the attraction shown in the Westworld TV series, in which half of the characters are human, half are robots. It is possible that our world is a computer simulation. Or a prison planet where prisoners and criminals from all over the Galaxy are taken. How many people - so many opinions, so we treat each opinion with respect and urge our readers to do the same. And together with everyone, we follow Mike Hughes. What if he really succeeds?
