Astronomer and mathematician Bernard Carr believes that many of the phenomena that we observe, but cannot explain within the framework of the physical laws of this dimension, actually occur in other dimensions.

Albert Einstein argued that there are at least four dimensions. The fourth dimension is time or space-time, Einstein argued that space and time cannot be separated. In modern physics, the theory of the existence of 11 or more dimensions has received support.

Carr, professor of mathematics and astronomy at Queen Mary University of London, says our consciousness interacts with another dimension. In addition, the multidimensional universe, as he imagines, has a hierarchical structure. We are at the lowest level dimension.

“The model explains well-known philosophical problems about the relationship between matter and thought, explains the nature of time, and serves as an ontological basis for interpreting phenomena such as ghosts, out-of-body travel, near-death experiences and dreams,” he wrote in a press release.

Carr concludes that our physical senses show us only a three-dimensional universe, although in fact there are at least four dimensions. What exists in higher dimensions are entities that we cannot identify with our physical senses. He said that such entities must have the type of space in which they exist.

“The only non-physical beings in the universe that we have any idea about are mental, and … the existence of supernatural phenomena suggests that mental beings must exist in some kind of space,” writes Carr.

The space of another dimension, which we enter in a dream, intersects with the space where memory exists. Carr says telepathy indicates the existence of a collective mental space, and clairvoyance. “Nonphysical objects have external signs,” he wrote in his book Matter, Thought and Higher Dimensions.

It builds on previous hypotheses, including the Kaluza-Klein theory, which combines the fundamental forces of gravity and electromagnetism. The Kaluza-Klein theory also assumes a five-dimensional space.

M-theory speaks of 11 dimensions, in superstring theory there are 10. Carr understands this as 4-dimensional "outer" space, meaning four dimensions in Einstein's theory of relativity, and 6 or 7-dimensional "inner" space, meaning, that these dimensions are associated with parapsychological and other "intangible" phenomena.
