This is not Stonehenge, but the sanctuary of the ancient Scythians who inhabited the lands of the present Dnipropetrovsk region, is very similar to a religious building in England. There are many amazing facts and finds in this story, but perhaps most of all it is surprising that archaeologists, after studying, will be forced to bury their find.

The sanctuary appeared in the second millennium BC, now it is located on the site of the current village of Tokovskoye. Archaeologists at the excavation site told about this to Channel 34.

Researcher of the Department of Archeology of the Dnieper Museum D. Yavornitskiy says that the building of stones was a kind of labyrinth where the souls of ancestors lived. Another version - stones dug in a certain geometric order are altars for religious events. In any case, it was a sacred place for our ancestors.

Also, local archaeologists suggest that the ancients turned to the spirits in matters of cattle breeding, proof of this, found all kinds of shards, and parts of clay pots, and dishes with ornaments.

Together with ancient dishes, which, by the way, archaeologists manage to glue together in fragments into a single whole, a casting mold for an ancient battle ax was found (for more details about this find you can read here), as well as molds for making arrowheads and sickles. These finds will go straight from the excavation to the museum to replenish the exposition, because they are rare and are of maximum value for history buffs.

For the third year now, a team of archaeologists has been carrying out excavations in these places; earlier, a skeleton of a Scythian and many other unique things were found here. But what is surprising is that due to the traditional lack of funding, the facility cannot be mothballed without being plundered. Therefore, archaeologists will have to fill up a multi-meter pit with a sanctuary in order to return the next year and start from the beginning.
