Over the past few months, an increasing number of people have begun to wonder: What if World War III did start? Relations between the two superpowers, Russia and the United States, are on the decline and the bottom is not yet visible - it is not for nothing that serious experts constantly compare our time and the dark era of the Cold War. But what experts, after all, even an ordinary person with the naked eye sees everything that happens around and can simply compare the facts, getting a whole, but very unsightly picture. Arctic battles
One of the first unpleasant signs of a possible apocalypse is the escalating struggle over the division of the Arctic into national territories. Now negotiations are coming to a standstill again and again: the UN is forced to take into account the interests of the United States, Canada, Norway, Denmark and Great Britain - and each of these countries claims to some part of the Arctic, which is part of our, Russian territory. The richest deposits of resources in the region make it impossible to resolve the issue peacefully, at least for today.
Ukrainian crisis
Naturally, it is simply impossible not to talk about what is happening in Ukraine. The sad events, tearing apart a huge country, cause a huge resonance in the world political arena. We are not even talking about mutual accusations between Russia and the United States of complicity and inciting the crisis, the situation is bad even without it. Some political analysts speak directly about the possible disintegration of all of Ukraine - this will be the worst turn of events for everyone. Neighboring countries, Poland, Hungary and Romania will surely join the struggle to share the pie. There will be only one outcome in this case.

The situation in Syria
Another hotbed of "infection" is located in Syria. Russia and the United States are now agreeing on cooperation, now they again begin to shower each other with mutual accusations of complicity in terrorism. In fact, the fight is now unfolding not so much against ISIS (a terrorist organization banned in Russia), as for control over the entire region, known for its large reserves of natural gas and oil. Will any of the superpowers retreat from such a jackpot of their own free will? Hardly.
Asian dragon
Another major player on the world stage should not be overlooked. One gets the full impression that the PRC has already passed a stage of some kind of "pupation", during which foreign policy remained not on the first list of priorities for this country. Today, China is showing more and more activity, directed just outward, which makes us think about whether not a butterfly is ready to emerge from the cocoon, but a fighting dragon armed with sharp fangs and claws. The situation in the Asian region is already tense to the limit - back in May the South Korean corvette Cheonan was sunk, which almost led to a real clash between North and South Korea.
Leash for Russian Bear
Experts, as already mentioned above, have not in vain set about recollecting the Cold War. For most of the Western world, almost all European countries and the United States, Russia has returned to the position of a scarecrow state, ready to respond with a nuclear strike to any criticism. Of course, this idea is far from reality. Unfortunately, it is simply beneficial for politicians of many powers to maintain the tension of the population at the expense of an external enemy, even if he seems illusory to thinking people. But the deliberate provocation of our country will not lead to anything good. The escalation of the conflict is now happening almost out of the blue - and in combination with other factors, another provocative trick of the West may well become the trigger that will trigger an already uncontrollable response.
