Why, in a number of cases, there were not enough links of evolution, and why did evolutionary changes go on quietly for hundreds of thousands of years, and then suddenly appeared unexpectedly in a ready-made form?
This phenomenon was inexplicable until one of the high priests (only priests were engaged in scientific research at that time) thought to associate it with the legends of strange caves, supposedly leading to unusual places. A purposeful search for such caves began, and it turned out that they really lead to other worlds inhabited by both known and unknown animals. According to a rather plausible hypothesis put forward by the famous physicist and pioneer senior priest Reeves, the stratification of the worlds occurs after strong shocks of the planet due to a collision with an asteroid. This hypothesis is supported by the fact that the bifurcation period (determined roughly by evolutionary differences between related species, and ranges from 2 to 400 million years ago) does not depend in any way on the time difference between worlds (5-8 nanoseconds). Experienced biologists, the Uzambarians understood the threat to the planet of an epidemic of new viruses against which no one has immunity. The results of centuries of research were encouraging. Among dozens of worlds, several suitable for settlement were found. In all the rest, an ice age reigned or deadly microorganisms lived. The priests were not at all embarrassed by the fact that there was no practical application from long and expensive research, except for the outlandish samples of flora and fauna that could be used in genetic experiments. It was obvious to the high priests that entire worlds suitable for settlement are the greatest treasure, and in time they will bring great benefits to the country. Unfortunately, this time has come earlier than we would like.
When defeat in the war became inevitable, everything was already ready for evacuation. A world with a favorable climate was chosen for settlement, to which, in addition, several portals led at once. The simplest equipment was transferred there in advance in parts and assembled, herds of domestic animals were released and knowledge stores were prepared. It was announced to the people that the gods had opened the way to a new world, and a few months later the surviving remnants of the once great people left their long-suffering homeland.
By the way, according to some hints, one can understand that the issue of printing a portal to one of the virus-dangerous worlds was discussed at the advice of Uzambar in order to destroy the hated Atlanteans. But, of course, if such a decision was made, then there was no written evidence of this.
When in the middle of the twentieth century it was decided to relocate part of the population to another world, the Uzambara Council faced a dilemma: look for a new, uninhabited parallel reality or return to Earth. To the credit of the rulers of Uzambar, it should be noted that when deciding the issue, they were guided exclusively by pragmatic considerations, although there were many sincere patriots of their ancient ancestral home among them.
Both options were difficult. There are already quite developed countries on Earth, belligerent and claiming world domination. Moreover, in the most powerful power on the planet, possessing superweapons, they have an extremely negative attitude towards blacks. Although slavery in America was abolished several generations ago, and over a million "colored" soldiers participated in the last big war, the attitude towards blacks has not changed at all.
On the other hand, “new worlds” have not yet been found and explored. Even if it is possible to find them quickly enough, it is impossible to relocate 1-2 billion people to an empty world. They will simply starve to death. And on Earth there is infrastructure, cultivated fields, factories. For diamonds there you can buy food, equipment and machinery. Therefore, the choice was clearly made in favor of the Earth.
Calculations showed that the implementation of a sufficient number of agents would take several decades. Even more difficult was the fight against racism in the United States, which ended with a black victory in the presidential election. The job was amazing, considering that even fifty years ago in the southern states, any white person could shoot a Negro girl with impunity for refusing to give him a seat on the bus.
It will take 3-3.5 years (you need to be in time before the next presidential elections) and Uzambar will be ready to openly perform on the world stage. But will the human powers give him such an opportunity, and will they not strike first? We'll see soon.
