A frightened mother demands a new home for her and her child because she is convinced that their terraced house is inhabited by the ghost of a man named Nigel.
Stacey McGill argues that the presence of a ghost is expressed in turning lights on and off, manipulating electrical appliances, moving paintings along the walls, and creaking floorboards in her house in Loughborough.
A 29-year-old woman who moved into the house last December with her 25-year-old partner Karl and their 18-month-old daughter Chelsea says she hired a medium to investigate who confirmed the presence of "male energy" in their home.
Paranormal specialist Dave Wickers said that he managed to make contact with a ghost living in McGill's house and said that the man's name was Nigel and he died when he was about forty.
“We came back from the store yesterday and when I went to cook porridge for my daughter, the light came on by itself, nobody touched the switch. This is so unnerving. I noticed that there was something wrong with this house almost immediately after we moved. I felt as if a spider web was entangling my whole body. But I attributed it to fatigue and nervous exhaustion that the move caused. But Karl later admitted to me that he felt the same way. Later, the microwave began to turn off by itself, and the paintings moved along the walls. One morning we woke up at 3 am to the sound of renovations. It was so loud, but we didn't see any men working anywhere, it was a ghost,”McGill says.
In the end, McGill decided to contact Vickers, who has since visited her house twice and filmed with a special video camera and measured the electromagnetic field.
“Based on the tests performed, Vickers has confirmed that a ghost lives in the house. We used to live in an apartment in a neighboring house and we didn't have any problems. I just want the Housing Association to give us another apartment. As far as I know, the last tenant experienced nothing, but some people are more sensitive to ghosts than others,”McGill says.
