The city of Cartago in central Costa Rica boasts one of the most haunted places in the world. We are talking about the abandoned children's Sanatorium named after Carlos Duran, where a century ago minors were treated for plague. Rumor has it that in the empty corridors and chambers of the former hospital it is possible to see the ghosts of young patients who died within the walls of this medical institution at night.

So, in the lobby of the hospital you can meet at night a little boy who looks quite normal and claims to have lost his way, asking to be taken away from here. Nevertheless, if you take a child by the hand, he will grab your wrist with a stranglehold and forcibly lead you deeper into the building, where he will leave you in complete darkness among the sobbing and howling of other ghosts.
In one of the chambers on the second floor, at exactly three o'clock in the morning, a glowing silhouette of a fifteen-year-old girl named Ramona appears, and in the broken toilet in the left wing of the sanatorium a strange shadow materializes, scurrying from side to side in the light of a flashlight or candle. In short, this is a real horror house.

Until today, the ghosts of the Sanatorium Carlos Duran were just a creepy urban legend, but now there is strong documentary evidence of their reality. A group of local teenagers, armed with a camera, entered the building at night and captured one guest from the other world on video. The recording spread with lightning speed across the English-speaking segment of the Internet, capturing the attention of tens of thousands of viewers.
The video below shows how young people, talking carelessly with each other, walk along the empty corridor of the hospital. At a certain moment, one of the teenagers stops near a certain room and looks inward, dumbfounded.
When the operator approaches a friend and points the camera into the room, a strange translucent silhouette looms in the bluish light of the flashlight. The ghostly figure looks like a long-haired girl sitting on the floor. Only a couple of seconds pass, and the girl gets up, while, according to many users of the World Wide Web, at the moment it becomes noticeable that the phantom has disproportionately long black legs, which are also bent in the wrong direction. Shocked by their discovery, adolescents, of course, immediately rush away from a potentially lost place.
American paranormal expert Stuart Karvan claims to have analyzed this video frame by frame and found no reason to believe that the recording was subject to editing. "Most likely, this is a real ghost," - concluded the intrigued specialist.
