Anonim

There are many terrible places in the world, and the worst are those where the war is going on. But this fear has nothing to do with the supernatural, something that frightens us against our will. Our list includes haunted houses, a gloomy Gothic castle, a forest of suicides and much more.

Riddle House

The Riddle House in Palm Beach Florida is a typical haunted house. In the 1920s, a certain Karl Riddle owned it, and it must happen that one of his employees named Joseph took and hanged himself in the attic of this house. Since then, Joseph's ghost has been attacking visitors to a strange house - and there is simply no end to those wishing to visit a local landmark. Interestingly, he attacks mainly men.

Lip castle

The infamous castle in County Offaly, Ireland, was built around the 13th century and was owned by the bloodthirsty O'Carroll clan. The O'Carrolls liked to invite their enemies to dinner under the pretext of reconciliation, and then kill them right in the dining room. Under it was the "kill" dungeon, into which the victims were pushed through a secret hole. The floor of the dungeon was covered with pointed stakes, on which the drunken guests would land. In general, the history of the castle and the legends about it are impressive. It is said that many spirits roam here, and the most famous of them are the Lady in Red and the demon Elemental.

Turin, Italy

Every year millions of tourists flock to the beautiful, historic and very clean Italian city of Turin. The city of Pidmontese is known primarily for the Turin Shroud, which supposedly depicts the face of Jesus Christ.

Oddly enough, Turin is also known as one of the most "satanic" cities in the world. For the first time reports of this came from the Vatican in the 80s of the 20th century: to fight the "black magic" in this city, the Vatican had to hire a large number of exorcists. Turin is a magnet for occultists of all kinds and is supposedly one of the peaks of the "triangle of black magic" with two other peaks in San Francisco and London.

Helltown

Helltown (that is, Hell City) is an abandoned urban district in Ohio. Currently, there are only two villages left and there are one and a half thousand inhabitants. It used to be a fairly prosperous place, but in 1974 US President Gerald Ford gave this land to a national park with the right to alienate private property. As a result, the national park never happened there, but people were evicted.

As in any dead and abandoned place, there are many wild rumors and legends roaming around here. One of them says that the sharp turn on Stanford Road, which is called the End of the World, is a meeting place for all kinds of dubious elements, from the Klans to the Satanists. Another legend is even more amusing: it is said that these abandoned places are guarded by a huge snake called the Python of the Peninsula. And not so much protects as looks for someone to eat.

Dudleetown, Connecticut

This abandoned town in Connecticut has long been notorious: people here regularly died under extremely mysterious circumstances or went crazy. According to legend, it all began with the "curse of Dudley". King Henry VIII of England executed Duke Edmund Dudley for attempting to overthrow royalty. Moreover, he not only executed, but also imposed a curse on all descendants of the Dudley clan with the help of black magic. Since then, misfortune has followed this family - two sons of the Duke of Dudley also lost their heads for an attempted coup. The grandson managed to leave for America, where his descendants founded the settlement of Dudleyville (later Dudleytown). But the "curse of Dudley" continued to operate: in the town there was an endless series of mysterious deaths, accidents and disappearances of its inhabitants. No one has lived in it for over 100 years.

Beelitz-Heilstätten, Beelitz, Germany

Abandoned hospitals are undeniably creepy. Especially such dark and scary places as the former German and then the Soviet military hospital Beelitz-Heilstätten. These walls saw both Hitler and Honnecker as patients. Like many other abandoned places, this building attracts unhappiness. In 2008, a 20-year-old model was beaten to death here. Killed by her own photographer, during a photo shoot and sex play, during which something went wrong. Even earlier, in 1989-1991, a serial necrophilic maniac named "The Beast from Belitsa" was operating in these places, who killed five women and a baby.

Changi Beach

Can a beach be a creepy place? After all, this is relaxation, fun, sun and joy! However, Changi Beach in Singapore is an exception. During World War II, the Japanese military carried out mass executions of opposed Chinese citizens on this beach. All of them had their heads cut off with the help of ceremonial Japanese swords. To this day, there are legends about headless ghosts walking along this beach at night, and about severed heads swaying on the waves near the shore. Not to mention bloodstains suddenly appearing on the sand and heartbreaking screams and groans.

Pisco, Peru

The inhabitants of the small Peruvian town of Pisco are under a vampire curse! It was like this: at the beginning of the 20th century, an Englishwoman named Sarah Ellen Roberts lived in this city. In 1913, she was arrested and presented with a number of very strange charges, namely: murder, witchcraft and the fact that she is the bride of the vampire Count Dracula (seriously, it was all that way). All of these accusations were corroborated by the testimony of Sarah's husband, who stated in court that his wife drank blood from the child's neck and poured blood on ice cream before eating it. His testimony was enough for Sarah Ellen to be sentenced to death.

Legend has it that "vampire" Sarah Roberts promised the city a terrible revenge before her death. Superstitious Peruvians believe that it was her curse that caused the terrible earthquake in 2007. Surprisingly, Sarah's grave was not damaged - unlike everything that was nearby.

School Tak-Tak

This school in Hong Kong is surrounded on all sides by a cemetery. When it closed forever in 1998, various scary stories began to circulate about it. For example, how one teacher put on her best red dress and hanged herself in a school building, and then they began to meet a ghost there. The Red Lady not only wanders through empty corridors, she is known for taking possession of the souls of people. In 2001, a group of brave teenagers climbed into an abandoned building, and when they left there, no trace of their fearlessness remained. One girl had hysterics and tried to commit suicide.

Paris catacombs

Under the City of Light is one of the darkest dungeons in Europe - the Parisian catacombs, filled with the bones of six million corpses. The bones were brought here in order to clear a place for new bones upstairs in Parisian cemeteries. Therefore, the old "cultural layer" was simply dumped underground. Today this place is a tourist attraction, but you need to be a brave person to stay in such a place overnight (and such a service is provided).

Hoya-Bachu forest

This strange forest in Romania is called the Transylvanian Bermuda Triangle and, of course, there are many legends about it. Those who have been there claim to have experienced a strange feeling of anxiety and fear, although there seemed to be no reason for this. But the place is really anomalous and unusual, curved trees grow there. And in the 60s, the Romanian biologist Alexandru Sift took several UFO pictures over the Hoya-Bacu forest. In 1968, military technician Emil Barnea managed to photograph several more flying saucers. Well, that there is a strange noise coming from the depths of the forest and some lights are visible, and there is nothing to say.

Aokigahara

This Japanese conservation forest is located in the shadow of Mount Fuji. The place is very beautiful, but also scary at the same time: every year many suicides come here to commit suicide. Unsuspecting tourists stumble upon corpses (most often dangling on a rope) - and this becomes a shock for them. In addition, it is believed that the ghosts of old men and women wander through the Aokigahara forest, who were traditionally left here to die in times of famine.
