On February 22, 1803, a group of fishermen from the Japanese province of Hitachi stumbled upon a strange object drifting off the coast. Driven by curiosity, they dragged him ashore to examine.
The mysterious vessel reached 330 centimeters in height and 540 centimeters in width. Its outline resembled a kohako, a Japanese censer. The upper part of the "ship" was made of a material covered with red lacquer, reminiscent of rosewood. The lower part was covered with a large number of copper plates, apparently to protect the structure from collision with sharp pitfalls.
Above, several windows were also found, covered with glass or some kind of crystals, which were covered with a substance similar to tree resin. They were transparent, which allowed the fishermen to look inside the Utsuro-bune (as they named the mysterious vessel). The interior of the object was covered with inscriptions in an unfamiliar language.
Inside the cabin were two sheets, a three-liter bottle of water, meat pâté, and a few muffins. In addition, the astonished fishermen saw the owner of the ship - a beautiful twenty-year-old girl with red hair and eyebrows. Her hair was lengthened with some kind of white artificial thread. The girl was wearing long clothes made of strange and beautiful material. She smiled affably and spoke something in an incomprehensible language. The stranger had a small box in her hands, which she did not allow to touch.
As a result, the fishermen decided to return the stranger and her ship back to the sea, while they themselves went about their business.
