In 1980, the then thirty-two-year-old Granger Taylor from Canada left a note to his family stating that he was going on a journey across the Universe on a makeshift intergalactic ship, and disappeared. The man did not take with him any clothes, no money, no documents, or any things. Thirty-six years have passed since his disappearance, and no one knows what happened to him.
Taylor, who spent his childhood on Vancouver Island, was a very talented and unusual young man. In the eighth grade, he dropped out, because he independently mastered the program for the entire school, and became actively interested in mechanics and electronics. At the age of fourteen, Granger built a unique one-seater car, and three years later completely repaired an old bulldozer that he found at a local junkyard.
Over time, the Canadian became obsessed with unidentified flying objects and extraterrestrial civilizations. He built a spaceship in the courtyard of his parents' house, similar to a flattened cylinder with two antennas, four legs and an eye-shaped porthole. Despite the modest dimensions of the handicraft probe, Taylor was quietly placed in it, spending whole days inside. The man's relatives did not attach much importance to his hobby, believing that Granger was simply “out of this world”, and that his interplanetary ship was just a decoration for games strange for such an adult.
The Canadian flew away using a wormhole
On November 29, 1980, the Canadian disappeared. His ship vanished with him. A month earlier, Taylor had told one of his comrades that aliens from outer space had contacted him, who telepathically provided him with a map of the inhabited planets of the Universe with routes - wormholes along which these celestial bodies can be reached in the shortest possible time. This entire month, the inventor barely got out of his probe. He became extremely focused and even slept only a couple of hours a day, devoting all his free time to improving his manned spacecraft.
In March 1986, foresters found something unusual relatively close to the Taylors' home. It was as if several large sticks of dynamite had been blown up in the forest: many trees were thrown to the sides, the trunks of others were burned, and in the ground there was an impressive crater. The arriving experts found a human bone at the site of the alleged explosion, however, for reasons still unknown, the experts did not determine to whom the fragment of the remains belonged.

To this day, Granger is considered missing. His living brothers and sisters, who have long been retired, do not lose hope that their relative will still return safe and sound. However, some who knew Taylor are sure that the Canadian died in an explosion in the forest, others suggest that he secretly started a new life somewhere in South America. Many, however, are convinced that the Canadian really left Earth, and not necessarily on his homemade apparatus. Perhaps his flight was metaphysical, and only Taylor's consciousness went to other planets, to whom aliens from outer space showed how to travel between the stars. On the other hand, they could provide him with the technologies for creating (refining) his apparatus to the required parameters, thanks to which he was able to really fly away on it to other worlds through space-time channels.
