The two-headed piglet, suffering from a rare disease - polycephaly, was born in the eastern Chinese province of Jiangxi. He was tenth in his litter.
The pig's owner notes that due to the disease, the animal has serious nutritional problems. Each of the heads "considers itself in charge" and tries to take control of the body, in particular, it concerns food. Often the "heads" of the piglet cannot determine which of the mother's nipples is preferable for them.
In polycephaly, each of the animal's heads has its own brain. "Two heads" work in tandem, thus controlling the functioning of the limbs and internal organs of the common body. It is noted that in some cases, the coordination between the two heads of the animal was seriously impaired, as a result of which, the animal was completely disoriented.
Over the past year, in the PRC, this is the second case of the birth of pigs with polycephaly. According to experts, the increase in the incidence of the disease indicates the low quality of the semen of Chinese breeding boars.
