The world community of astronomers has denied the theory that the unusual "twinkling" of the star KIC 8462852 could have occurred as a result of the collision of several planets and the formation of a cloud of cosmic dust, as well as due to the presence of representatives of an alien race in this sector. A related article was published in the print edition of the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.

The unusual fluctuation flares that occurred against the background of the star KIC 8462852, located in the constellation Cygnus, were reported in mid-October by employees of the astronomical laboratory at Yale University. The unusualness of such "flares" lies in the fact that during their activity, the glow level of the star itself decreased by about 2 times by almost a quarter. This gave scientists reason to speculate that there is an object in the sector, called the Dyson Sphere, which was created by representatives of the super-developed race of aliens.

Lars Kristensen, an employee of the Harvard-Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (USA), did not agree with this point of view, since, in his opinion, traces that experts could see, for example, clouds of cosmic dust, should have remained in place. from time to time covering the star, as well as many debris and dust particles.

In support of their words, Lars Christensen and colleagues, authors of the publication in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, observed the KIC 8462852 system using two telescopes of the SMA series and a SCUBA-2 camera built into the telescope of James Maxwell, one of Christensen's colleagues.

According to the results obtained over a period of rather long observation, no significant dust accumulations were recorded either in the inner or outer regions of this star system. The mass of dust, according to the calculations of Christensen's group, is about 3 million times lower than the mass of the Earth in its near part, and 6,000 times lower in almost the entire system, which smashes the theory put forward by scientists from Yale University to smithereens.
