A 25-year-old Brazilian woman gave birth to a healthy baby with two well-formed heads by caesarean section

The birth took place in a hospital in the city of Anajas, located in the northern state of Pará, the weight of the child at birth was 4.5 kg, foreign media write on Wednesday, December 21, citing the Brazilian newspaper Brazil's O Povo.

The newspaper reports that the young woman lives in a rural area, and therefore did not undergo an ultrasound test during pregnancy. The fact that her fetus is not entirely normal, she learned already during childbirth.

In an interview with reporters, the director of the hospital, Claudinore Assiz de Vasconcelos, said that the woman in labor decided to come to the hospital only because the contractions were accompanied by severe abdominal pain.

The scan revealed the pathology, and the doctors decided to do a caesarean section - a natural birth endangered the life of the mother and child. After the operation, the medical staff was very surprised that this unusual child is absolutely healthy and all his organs are functioning normally.

Ms de Vasconcelos notes that the two-headed baby was greeted with joy by the mother and other family members. The woman, who has three other children, breastfeeded both mouths of her new child, and insisted that immediately after completing the necessary tests, go home with him to the village.

The publication notes that this boy is the second two-headed baby born this year in Brazil. Earlier, the same strange child was born about 27-year-old Brazilian Suely Ferreira, who lives in the state of Paraiba, but he died a few hours after birth from lack of oxygen.
