Today, many smartphone users (and all other useful gadgets) are concerned about the radiation emitted by devices. The question of how harmful everyday use of a smartphone can be is still open. However, thanks to the efforts of Statista experts, it became much easier to understand the problem.

The debate about how dangerous and harmful smartphones are will probably never subside. Today you can find both scientists who unanimously shout that smartphones are evil and kill a person, as well as scientists who, with an important and confident look, state the almost complete harmlessness of gadgets. All these disputes still gave some kind of result. Now every manufacturer is obliged to indicate the level of study of smartphones - SAR (measured in watts per kilogram) on the box with the gadget.

On the basis of all these data, experts from the analytical company "Statista" have prepared a rating of the 16 most popular smartphone models. The numbers are really interesting. It turned out that Xiaomi Mi A1 can be considered the most harmful - this smartphone has the highest SAR - 1.73 watts per kg. In second place with an indicator of 1.63 watts per kg was the OnePlus 5T, and in third - Xiaomi Mi Max 3 - 1.58 watts per kg.

It is also interesting that most of the flagships were not included in the rating. Only a few models grabbed the bottom lines of the list. Good or bad, it's hard to say. Real scientists will say that there is no "true safe" indicator of radiation emission. Restrictions and guidelines can vary greatly depending on the laws of a particular country. For example, even the “dirtiest” Xiaomi Mi A1 is still considered normal, according to the laws of the European Union, which requires household appliances not to emit more than 2 watts per kg.

However, in Germany the recommended radiation level should not be higher than 0.6 watts per kg.
