Have you noticed how much mysticism, esotericism, conspiracy theories have become on television? A number of popular channels, including the respectable Ren-TV, are literally obsessed with these topics.

I do not mean the usual "yellow" set (magic, psychics, witches) - this is by itself, but high-quality by the standards of television, quite serious-looking programs filled with candidates, doctors, correspondent members. Shambhala, Hyperborea, secret knowledge and societies, agents of disappeared civilizations, conspiracy theory, geopolitics … As if Miguel Serrano or Jean Parvulesco wrote these fascinating scenarios. Such a thing on television, and even on such a scale, has not been observed before.

The easiest way to explain this phenomenon is an attempt to "divert the attention" of ordinary people. But I think the problem is more complicated. People are beginning to get used to the idea that real power always has a mystical basis, that it is almost impossible to influence the plan of history drawn up in advance by some hidden forces. More recently, such ideas were considered marginal and semi-underground. Now they are being made public and backed up by academic authorities.

In fact, the concepts put forward are reminiscent of the Jewish conspiracy theory. On the one hand, there seems to be a disclosure of secret plans, on the other, exposed Jewry finds itself in the role of a collective demiurge, always and everywhere, making history.

The same anti-passionary model looms in numerous stories about world conspiracies on Russian TV. The revelations are rather ambiguous. People are likened to hypnotized banderlog wandering into the jaws of a boa constrictor. Even those who understand what is happening are unable to resist.

It is characteristic that in all these television exposures the Russian authorities are taken out of the brackets. In theory, it should follow from this that the existing regime is still protecting us from the encroachments of international conspirators. The authors of the programs, of course, do not make such straightforward conclusions, but they indirectly draw them to them. At the same time, the relationship between the current Russian government and the so-called world elite is spoken of only in passing.

Meanwhile, there is something to say. Take, for example, the relationship with the "amicably loved" by all conspiracy theorists, the Rothschild family. One of its modern representatives, Nathaniel Rothschild, is already the chairman of the supervisory board of RUSAL, a giant monopoly company that owns the entire aluminum industry in Russia. Currently, he also plans to chair the board of directors of Norilsk Nickel.

“You can probably say that I brought the Rothschilds back to Russia,” the supermogul said in an interview with the Vedomosti newspaper. Another frequent figure in conspiracy theories, Morgan Stanley, began managing the placement of Gazprom's bonds in the 2000s. So no conspiracy is needed. Close cooperation of the Russian government with the world oligarchy is evident. At least the listed publicly available facts are enough. The problem is that these facts are not convenient for the concept of TV whistleblowers.

However, the central theme of such programs is, of course, "aliens" from outer space. It must be said that its information promotion is rapidly gaining momentum not only in Russia, but also in the West. If earlier stories about encounters with "aliens", to put it mildly, were questioned, and the participants in these "meetings" were suspected of schizophrenia, now the topic of "aliens" is no longer marginal.

The military, pilots, sailors, and quite fine-looking bourgeois narrate about encounters with UFOs and even the inhabitants of the "saucers". It's hard to imagine that all these people lie so shamelessly. The question then is, what did they actually see?

René Guénon, the largest traditionalist of the twentieth century, argued that people stopped meeting the creatures described in ancient myths as a result of the process of densification (hardening) of matter. This process, in his opinion, coincided with the spiritual degradation of mankind.

As a result, the connection of people with the subtle worlds was interrupted. But at a certain stage of degradation, the partition between the worlds can crack and then creatures of the infernal type will rush to us. Within the framework of a post-industrial society, Guénon's views seem exotic, although in recent decades his works have become more famous.

Perhaps, discoveries in the field of high technologies really brought humanity closer to previously invisible subtle worlds? Then such an approximation can become dangerous.

I believe that all this information boom around "extraterrestrials" is ultimately nothing more than a form of restoration of paganism. Almost as a reliable fact, various kinds of researchers tell us that the gods of the ancient world were "aliens." The theory of the transfer of knowledge by aliens that became the basis of human civilization is actively popularized.

Serious financial investments are felt to feed this theory. It is clear that it is easier for modern man to believe in "aliens" than in Zeus or Odin. In this context, the theme of priests or those who, according to the theory of the extraterrestrial origin of civilization, had intellectual contacts, and not just meetings with "aliens", acquires special significance.

Therefore, the popularizers of the latest paganism are confidently talking about the connections of some representatives of the world political elite with "guests from outer space", allegedly taking place in the twentieth century. In the future, the social pyramid of society can again be legitimized by the presence of secret mystical knowledge at the top. In the context of media practice, this is not as difficult as it might seem now.

It is natural that Christianity is practically not mentioned in theories about "aliens". The appeal goes precisely to pagan traditions. In fact, this is part of a massive attack on the Christian and, more broadly, the monotheistic picture of the world. This attack today is being conducted in all directions from ethics to theories of the alien origin of civilization and even life itself on Earth. The legalization of conspiracy theories in politics and science is only a small part of the fundamental topic.
