The second most important entrance is located in Russia on Mount Elbrus. An ancient legend says that the entrance to Shambhala is located inside an amazing cave in the Kabardino-Balkarian mountain peaks. This deep shaft is very narrow and very much resembles a ventilation duct coming from some lower rooms. Geologists call it the Zayukovskaya crack. It is unique and there are no similar cracks or faults around the world. Five more similar small caves were discovered in the Baksan Gorge. It seems that they are all part of a single underground ventilation system.
It was this underground system that the Nazis were looking for in 1942, when the German fascists sent a search expedition of a special occult SS department called Ahnenerbe (Ahnenerbe - the German name for "ancestral heritage") to the Elbrus region at the height of the war.
