By detonating a nuclear bomb on the surface of the moon, the United States wanted to hint to the USSR that they could get to anywhere in the world and destroy all living things on it.
Most of this conspiracy became known to the world only with the onset of 2000. It became clear that the secret "Project A119" was being developed by the BBC, and the cover legend said that it was nothing more than research flights to the surface of the moon. The secret data was disclosed by one of the physicists, who for many years worked on the calculations that would make it possible to crank the plan.
He stated that the only goal of the American government was to create the largest possible explosion, from which the mushroom could be seen from the lands of the USSR. This turn of events should have agitated the Soviet Union. They should have gotten scared and stopped any counter-measures during the Cold War.
The power of the nuclear equivalent for the explosion exceeded the indicators that were selected for Hiroshima, and the explosion itself was planned to be made on the dark side of the moon, in order to achieve a greater effect of deceit and mystery.

At the very beginning of the project, it was made clear that they must calculate the exact trajectory of the explosion in order to help biologists find living organisms on the surface of the moon. Allegedly, from such a powerful explosion, microorganisms can wake up, which for many years hid under thick layers of lunar soil. Their task was to produce a point explosion and try to make sure that the mushroom, immediately after it was formed, could scatter in outer space without hitting the Earth. But as it turned out, all this was not at all for research purposes.
In mid-1987, most of the records of that time were destroyed, so it will not be possible to find out the exact data even with all the desire. But according to the engineer who revealed the secrets of the project, he provided eight calculations at once.
No one can answer why the explosion never happened, but maybe it’s for the best, because who knows what would happen next. It is scary to even imagine how the world and events could turn if, in the early 1960s, the surface of the moon began to be bombarded with nuclear missiles.
