This story took place in the midst of stagnation. Its exact date is known - September 26, 1976, Sunday. Early in the morning a young pilot Vladimir Serkov, a resident of Novosibirsk, hijacked the famous An-2 plane from the local airfield. On it, he climbed to a small height, circled over the city and directed him towards one of the five-story buildings.

The plane crashed between the third and fourth floors - where the staircase was located. An-2 - a small light airplane, but it broke through the concrete wall of the building; the front of the plane flew into one of the apartments, and the rest fell in a heap outside near the entrance. The unlucky pilot also found himself in the stairwell, who immediately died. Fuel from the plane also spilled out there, which led to a fire. Residents had to hurry to leave the apartment through the windows; the young woman and several children did not manage to escape and died in the fire.

It was found that 23-year-old Serkov missed. He aimed at a specific apartment where his ex-wife lived with her parents and little son. Vladimir wanted to take revenge on her in this way for leaving him. As he hoped, that morning the whole family had to sit at the table and have breakfast, then he could carry out his "punishment from heaven." But in fact, by a happy coincidence, no one was at home at that time.

According to one version, the girl's father knew in advance about a possible revenge and took the necessary measures. At the same time, none of the family members told the rest of the residents. Apparently, fearing reprisals from the victims, the girl's family decided to hide soon after the incident: they constantly changed their addresses, and subsequently it was not possible to find them.

The traces of the accident were quickly eliminated, the house was repaired, and the incident was classified. The people around were very vaguely aware of the circumstances of the case, so the incident quickly became overgrown with fantastic rumors: some said that it was a terrorist attack - the first in the Soviet Union, others thought it was some kind of political action. For more than thirty years, the case was kept in secret, and only in the middle of the 2000s, after the KGB archives were declassified, people were able to find out the truth.

There are a lot of conclusions from this story. It is clear that Serkov's act does not resemble the behavior of an adult. It is unclear who gave this childish (or maybe not quite mentally healthy) person the right to fly an airplane.
