Remains of volcanoes? Strange erosion? Alien eggs? Local legends compete to explain these strange areas.
Ever since these mysterious spherical objects were found in the village of Mokraya Olkhovka, Volgograd Region, they have been surrounded by legends and mysteries.
The first theory of their origin was that they were dinosaur eggs. This idea was discarded by scientific research, which concluded that they are made of metal, silicon and sand, not a baby dinosaur.
Another legend was that they could be the product of a unique volcano that produced not only steam, but also minerals that formed into these unusual forms, but this was also not confirmed.
Adding to the intrigue is that the balls were very close to each other and looked very similar, each of which had the same shape and size, which led to the theory that it was the work of aliens.
Further research reveals that Kazakhstan and New Zealand also have some of these eggs that are secretive in their remote areas. While conspiracy theorists sometimes claim that these are deposits from another planet, they do have a scientific explanation.

The scientific term for these ancient "eggs" is "nodules" and this is a fairly common occurrence. They are formed when mineral cement settles in the intervals between sediments. They occur in strata that have already been deposited and resist erosion, so over the centuries, these pockets of spherical nodule cement remain after everything else is washed away.
