A careful study of Chapter 19 of Genesis suggests that the author was well aware of the characteristic signs of a nuclear explosion: a blinding flash, “rain of fire and brimstone,” a destructive shock wave, and absolute sterility of the soil for a very long time after the cataclysm.
Imagining how Lot and his family managed to avoid the hellish nuclear inferno in time, you understand too well the prohibition to turn around, alas, inadvertently violated by the Patriarch's wife, who turned into a pillar of salt because of this.
Of course, the traditional explanation of this cataclysm by the "wrath of the Lord" directed against cities mired in sin is not at all convincing. If we accept this caricatured anthropomorphic image of the angry "God of the Gendarme", it becomes abundantly clear that such his interventions would have to be continuous, given how unattractive earthly mankind has been for centuries. In addition, the kind of complete devastation that we see even today in the so aptly named Dead Sea region speaks in favor of the nuclear cataclysm that destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah in due time.
This destruction is immeasurably greater than that caused by the explosion of the first American atomic bomb in Hiroshima in 1945: of course, radioactivity in the damned area has long ceased to be dangerous, but the sterility of the soil is still incurable, and no means available to us can restore fertility.
In a study by Professor Agresta, published in 1960, we can find a hypothesis about a colossal thermonuclear explosion provoked by humans from outer space who systematically destroyed their energy reserves before returning to their home planet. One can come to the conclusion that the unfortunate earthlings, upon whom the "atomic disaster" fell, such a phenomenon could well be regarded as a terrifying revenge of the gods.
However, it is not necessary to imagine, as we willingly do, that aliens come - like the Martians in Wells' War of the Worlds - to destroy all life on our planet, in order to systematically exterminate earthlings, wanting to take their place. Why not just as well assume that the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah was for them an unintentional nuclear catastrophe, which turned out to be inevitable only because of the massive "evacuation" of the alien colony from Earth?
It is tempting to think that their appearance set themselves civilizing tasks and that they came to Earth more than once, but at rather long intervals, if we use earthly measurements of time. The first visit to our planet by representatives of other civilizations who came from the sky can be dated to the very beginning of the existence of the Earth.

It is from this angle, setting out the revelations of Madame Blavatsky, that the theosophist Trarieux d'Egmont considers the landing of the "Lords of Fire" on Earth eighteen million years ago, who came from a much more developed planet than ours to civilize the latter.
But it would be possible, probably with great plausibility, to establish that such "civilizational" landings clearly landed behind the Earth and later: is it not these great alien "civilizers" that mankind owes the appearance on our planet of grain crops and corn, and more generally form - agriculture in general? Imagine what a leap humanity has made, what a gap lies between prehistoric tribes with their gathering of fruits, hunting and fishing, and the emergence of agriculture.
Robert Charroux referred to an Andean legend that the humanoid alien Orehana arrived from Venus on Earth aboard a spaceship "shining brighter than the sun." She had a strongly elongated head and four-fingered hands with webbing. It was this "Venusian", judging by some legends of the Indians of Peru and Colombia, who was the great educator of the Andes.
No matter how fantastic this assumption may seem - so dear to the hearts of science fiction writers - the very idea that aliens arrived on Earth with a specific mission or settled here for a long time does not contain anything absurd. On the contrary, we have numerous testimonies of people who suddenly found themselves next to creatures, of course, of the human species, but with one or two signs that made it possible at first glance to understand that they were not representatives of any of the known human races.
And each of us can unexpectedly find ourselves in the company of such creatures. From what worlds are such - ancient or recent - alien landings possible? Despite the popularity of the versions that they are from Mars or Venus, to which whole generations of science fiction writers and, admittedly, some exciting legends and traditions attribute a civilizing role, it is difficult to imagine that creatures deserving the name could inhabit the surface of these planets humanoids.
On the planets of the solar system, and even on the red planet and the shepherd's star, the conditions of existence - at least judging by the results of recent studies - are too different from the conditions suitable for the flourishing of human life such as the earth. But on the uncountable number of planets orbiting stars, there can certainly be found those where living conditions are similar or very similar to those that exist on Earth. And why on some of these planets the beings inhabiting them do not reach a stage of development incomparably more advanced than ours?
For example, we know the paradox of the Mobius strip, which is a one-sided surface that has no face or wrong side. And no one is prohibited from imagining “nodes” existing in this image and likeness on our globe, which allow two regions with a space-time continuum to mutually penetrate each other, despite the fact that they are objectively located extremely far from one another.
Thus, the great initiates of past times probably knew such places on Earth where, in some very definite cases, it was possible to suddenly be transported to another space or to another time. Such transfers, probably, could occur unexpectedly and under a certain set of circumstances, which explains the mysterious, but quite reliable information about the sudden disappearances of people in broad daylight and in front of everyone.
In the Arizona desert, there is a place where travelers often see the same very clear mirage: it is a city that does not resemble any known earthly settlement. Between the two world wars, an American expedition, exploring the hitherto unknown mountainous terrain of the Antarctic continent, was surprised to find a strange city in the distance; it was flooded with mighty troops from the constellation Orion. This whole landscape seemed to be in a kind of "other space".
Then they thought that we were talking about an ordinary mirage, and the strange vision was not even noted in the official reports of the expedition; but one of its participants told his friends about the phenomenon he had seen. Perhaps the result of this oral story was Lovecraft's great novella Les montagnes hallucinees.
Let's return to the fully confirmed facts. Among the countless evidences of unidentified flying objects, let us single out the 1926 observations made in Central Asia by Nicholas Roerich and the members of the expedition he led. All of them saw a luminous disc flying over the peaks of the Karakoram mountain range.
It is difficult to deny the possibility of contact between our planet and aliens. Those who ardently reject such a possibility are likened to xenophobic tribes who refuse to meet a culture alien to them. A scientist must be ready to investigate absolutely everything, even the most fantastic and incredible phenomena.
The history of scientific thought shows the illusory nature of dogmatic obstacles, which in different epochs were designed to limit the area of strictly proven truths, an unshakable system, outside of which nothing had the right to exist.
